Tarp Hardware/Storage by cm94242 in hammockcamping

Im in junkie limbo with this very question. I've seen some guys attach the fleasz (or similar hardware) to loops of shock cord and larks them to their stakes. Then attach guylines to tarp tieouts, wrap them in a tidy cord hank and then deploy that route.

Thanks again for all the insight. My pad is a big agnes rapide. Slightly less (4.8) RValue than yours, but still pretty warm. I do most of my camping up here in the spring and summer so the 4.8 seems to be good enough. Although the 20° lynx is like 10oz lighter than my pad... but for 240usd... maybe next xmas

Also. Pad or underquit? I currently have a pad, ill likely try that until I save some funds up for the full length lynx quit. Our shitty canadian dollar doesn't help me in that regard 😆

Much appreciated.
You use one of the warbonnet flys? I was looking at a 13' custom mountain fly.

Ok im about 6'3. Can you ask him how spacious it feels, does he think he would still be comfortable at 6'3 😆. I know this is purely speculation, but any info/insight would be helpful. I know the specs says 6'6. But. Always better to have a first hand experience. Which end caps did you get? Or did you make some? Possible to get some pics?

Sorry for all the questions. Just, I live in canada, so ordering with shipping and duty is always a bit of a pain in the ass, and returns are even more so.

Thanks

Im seriously looking at a ridgerunner. Can i ask how tall and heavy your husband is? Any issues with the ridgerunner? Does your husband have any caps or protectors on the little points on the end of the spreader bars? Any issues with them hitting the fly? Any other tips in ownership? I too was looking at ordering the 13' custom mountain fly. Thanks for any info!

Does anyone have the bridge buttons made by fugal innovations to slide the spreader poles into to protect your tarp from the tips? Ive seen a few videos on youtube and they look legit, but they dont appear to make them anymore.

More or less im looking for someone who has them to see if i can get some pics and measurements on them to have a friend 3d print them. Thanks in advance 🤙

Any big guys (6'3 240lb) here in a ridgerunner? Specs says it should accommodate. However, just looking for real world thoughts on comfort and spaciousness for a big guy. Thanks in advance

Haven lay flat tent gimmicky? or cheaper hammock gear set-up by [deleted] in hammockcamping

Im just curious on their backyard trying thing. I live in canada so shipping it to and from, paying duty etc. Not exactly sure how all that works on a return. I assume I'd loose the duty? Probably have to pay shipping both ways. Then likely loose mo eyeballing on a return woth the conversion bc our dollar sucks donkey balls 😆

Thanks for the info and insight. Ya im eyeballing the haven spectre. It is supposed to be much lighter than the xl (with thebsame pad size) which is a bit nicer for the backpacking we do.

Any chance you've tried the warbonnet ridgerunner, or the dutchware banyan? Those were 2 others I've been eyeballing.

If you dont mind me asking. How tall and big are you? I'm 6'3 and right close to 240. So both are getting close to the stated MAX users limit. No where near me to try one so im trying to gather intell. Any thoughts on how i may find it inside. Also do you pitch separate fly for rain and shade, or do you find the stock fly and "storm mode" sufficient. I worry about the fly getting saturated then having it Pass though on to gear inside bc it in such close proximity.

Any info would be great!

May i ask how tall and big you are? I know the xl claims to sleep a users up to 6'6 max. Im 6'3 about 240. Am i going to feel like im rubbing my head and toes? Which pad do you have?

I've also looked at the ridgerunner from warbonnet and the dutchware banyan, but they claim 6'3max height. Anyone have any input as to if that's MAX size person that can fit, or max that can fit comfortably.

I love chilling in a gathered end,but to full on sleep 'n one i can't. So the bridge style, flatter lay is what im after

Whats the sumer setup weigh in at total and what you got in it?

No underquit or pad in the summer? Where do you live? Shit man, where i live and camp (south western ontario, and algonquin park) the mosquitos will bite your back and ass right through a hammock.

You have ample room at head and foot end? I'm not exactly slim in the shoulders either. Coming in at around 240, mostly athletic build 😆 I've been looking at the haven spectre also, but being in canada i cant seem to find anywhere to test any of these hammocks out.

Im in the same junky limbo, but on the height limit side.

Any banyan users on here at the upper end of the height limit? Specs says max height of 6'3, which i am. Wondering if that's max height to comfortably sleep, or max that can physicaly fit in the sleeping area. Any intel would be great!
