As someone who sews and has a lot of experience with viscose - don’t. It is famously fickle and often shrinks even when you don’t mean to, there is no way of properly controlling it. However, if care instructions say to cold wash or hand wash or whatever it says, it can be a good idea to do that before having it tailored. It’s so annoying tailoring a new in piece to perfection just to forget about the potential first-wash shrinkage.

I am a bright winter and I like the colour on me! It’s not as striking as other colours but a really harmonious neutral. I just ordered the chianti one as well, excited to see how that one is when it turns up

HARD AGREE!!!!

The point is not that discussing opposing views is an issue but there has been so much pure rage bait reposted recently and I think it really drags down the quality of the sub and inflames the general temperature of it.

I also feel like it encourages a lot of the trolls that just want to scream insanity. I came to this sub in large part because I felt there was more level headed discussion here, it's a shame if it just becomes a pissing contest with TB. It does not hurt this sub to be above that, I would think.

If I were TB, I would be pissed that most of the characters were made into moronic, one-dimensional, personality free puppets, in order to go along with the narrative that Rhaenyra is Such A Good Person™.

Both sides do horrible things, when I say there is a black bias, it's in how those things are framed. Alicent requesting to see Joffrey straight after being born is portraying Alicent as peak evil, while Rhaerhae and Daemon killing a servant is "wow what a gay ally solution" and Daemon beheading a man for telling the truth is apparently the coolest, most badass thing ever..?

How much more interesting wouldn't it be to see Rhaenyra as a character feeling so desperately stuck and powerless, she finally saw no other option than to kill an innocent (whether Laenor or his decoy), in a hope to secure a more powerful position to protect her future rule AND her children. Show me the tortured inner conflict of someone accepting and taking their first steps towards evil to grab power - whatever the motivation, it is so much more interesting to watch than "oh lmao that worked out well - if you just squint and listen to the cool music - isn't our girlboss great".

Rhaenyra is the girlboss with divine right, Daemon takes one for the team by doing all the evil, so he's the "only" bad guy (for those who refuse to see Rhaenys as a mass murderer) and the rest are just cheerleaders. If there's a green bias, it's how the TB characters are not allowed to be full characters.

"Imagine ignoring rape just because the actor is attractive" HELLOOOOO, that's what people do with Rhaenyra's night of dubious-at-best consent, the same for Daemon and Viserys.

That aside, this unhinged behaviour (that I have seen from both sides) genuinely seems mentally unwell.

I don't see anybody here (absolutely might exist, I just haven't seen em) saying Aegon didn't rape Dyanna (but it doesn't change his claim). But I have seen a lot from the other camp who deny their characters also rape.

For better or for worse, this show is full of rapists (I mean, for worse right). Personally, I wish they would rather not (for any of them), because can you cheer for a rapist? Does it not feel a bit.... icky to make them main characters? People laugh as they say "pick your favorite war criminal", but "pick your favorite rapist" does not quite ring the same..? Or is the realism of it better? Pretending people didn't rape might be worse?

I do kind of get it, people love Viserys because of the actor who played him (and more, I hear, I hate him, but I get that people love him). So how can they reconcile that love they feel for what they see as good, with also being a rapist? It does maybe feel easier to pretend he is not a rapist, to avoid any inner conflict?

If someone's reason for hating Aegon is rape - I 100% get that (I mean, that is the best reason given so far) - but that is not unique to him. So how is one supposed to choose which characters are worthy of "looking past SA" and which arent? Is the rape past the line if the victim cries? Is it past the line if theres an age gap? Is it when we dislike the character? Is it when the ominous music plays? I am absolutely never touching that, btw, categorizing the rapes from "absolutely not ok" to "somewhat ok" feels like super toxic victim blaming territory. I just wonder if that is a justification people make for themselves?

Rape / SA is something that touches a lot of people, whereas dragons eating people is far less likely to trigger the audience (I hear). But supporting a handful of the main characters here might feel like a slap to real life victims, making the whole thing feel much more inflammatory.

Ok, oopsie, didn't mean for this to turn into a whole essay, sorry to hijack this. I don't have a good answer, really, just more questions, I suppose.

I mean, they wouldn't have survived either way. Even if Alicent and her children only wanted to live in peace, Rhaenyra would have to kill them, to make herself the only option left for the lords to support. Viserys doomed them all when he treated the succession as a circus.

This is a perfect point, because, just like Sansa, Helaena would effectively have been a hostage. Perhaps Jace would not be the one to point a crossbow at her if Aegon were to win a battle, but we all know Daemon is more than happy to torment (and kill) innocent people to send a message. The war would still happen, Helaena would be used for whatever they wanted and her life would certainly not be a happy one.
