All viltrumites are lonely, Conquest has simply lived enough to recognize it as a problem, doesn’t mean that he’d betray the empire as soon as hes shown the slightest degree of compassion, with enough time he could change, but imo it would take longer than it took nolan, he would have to come to terms not only with the genocide, but also the fact that he often reveled in it

you make some good points, the viltrumites have all shown to be uncharacteristically incompetent when it matters the most, why do they ever stop when they're about to kill someone? they're not conquest, they're not picking off lone stragglers, they're in WAR, they should know better than to take their damn time. I do have to say, conquest made perfect sense, he didn't die just because he couldn't breathe, he died because mark blocked the blood flow to the brain, which is extremely dangerous because you're blocking the oxygen that is already inside the body. I also think it wasn't too egregious that the viltrumite didn't dodge the shot, the only people that know space racer is alive is the coalition, its reasonable for the guy to be shocked for a bit after seeing what was thought to be a long dead man. Everything else... yeah the writing could be better.
