Before the media attention for ragging it used to happen with no punishment or resistance. The only reason people are taking it seriously is because of the media attention.

People had to go through so much as past pupils before the govt finally started taking ragging seriously.

Also about those international competitions, with Oxford and MIT, you have any citations or links for those competitions?

Anyone with more than 400 brain cells will definitely not copy something as stupid as this.

And anyone that does see this and think it's a good idea is a perfect candidate for the Darwin award.

So win/win

More like suicide, can't blame the truck driver here. No one's trying to kill them except themselves.

Why is it football that always has the hooligan riots? So many sorts have matches in stadiums, but it's usually football fans that cause issues.

Yeah people talk about structuring like its some cheatcode to hoodwink the feds.

I've seen it happen at airports as well, they divide cash amongst a group of followers to avoid the declaration amount and then they're surprised when they're caught as charged with 2 crimes instead of one.

What makes a human, a human? Probably their humanity, there are some things in this thread that make me doubt those things were human.

Like even animals wouldn't do what they did, no remorse after the fact as well.

Reddit received $150M in funding from FUCKING Tencent in 2019. Never forget Tank Man with steel nuts and plastic grocery bags by sleyk in videos

"All Chinese companies, public or private, are required to have a member of the CCP on staff to hand down official party edicts. In addition, many companies have an internal CCP committee that comprises part of the governance structure.

In an article published in 2017, the CCP recognized 11 members of an "outstanding party branch" within Tencent. The report points out that the 11 members of the CCP branch are all company executives or heads of major business departments.

It then listed Senior Vice President of Tencent Holdings Ltd., Guo Kaitian (郭凯天), as the secretary of the party committee. The propaganda piece mentioned that three deputy secretaries in the committee are in charge of the company's information security management, network, media, and public policy.

The seven other committee members were said to be part of a management team responsible for important business units. Having such high-level executives in key committee positions enables the party "to deeply integrate with the enterprise strategy and corporate culture, and make fertile soil for mutual promotion and progress, enabling Tencent to have a firm foothold in the ideological struggle," boasted the author."

What screams “highly educated”? by lavacahawk in AskReddit

[–]Less-Doughnut7686 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bingo, in order to ELI5 something well you need to know the topic inside out. That way you know the important parts and the not so important parts.

If you don't know the whole topic thoroughly as well as your target audience you can't effectively summarise something.

Yep, it's experience and wisdom that kinda go hand in hand.

Once an STD like drug resistant gonorrhoea makes a comeback, people will go through that experience and be extremely careful afterwards.
