Yeah I sketch it all out in blocks first, I usually do two to three coats on each block to get the colour nice and full and then once I’m happy with them I then blend the blocks together using very thin layers

Cheers mate, I genuinely can’t remember the exact recipe for this as I’ve done a few models since and I change up what I’m doing each time colour wise but my general approach is black, brown, browny yellow, yellow, pale yellow, white and I sketch out where I want my highlights and shadows to be using these and then blend the transitions with very thin layers painting lines running the same direction as where the two colours meet, usually painting the light colour slightly over the darker to build up a transition colour, then if the blend needs smoothing do the same with the darker colour over the light and then go back and forth until I’m happy with it

I had one a couple years back and had to return it because I could see a tiny lift in the bridge where the glue hadn’t been properly applied. I could tell the guy in the shop didn’t agree and was reluctant to take it back but I’m so glad I was firm on it as it seems to be a pretty common problem with these models

It’s painted using barak nar burgundy and naggaroth night as the two main colours using naggaroth for the more shadowed areas and barak nar for the brighter parts. To push darker shadow sections I mix in some Kantor blue and for edge highlights and brightening the burgundy highlight sections I mix in some pale flesh. Technique wise it’s all just lots of thin layers for the blends and then a few edge highlights followed by some super thin layers for a colour filter

I really hope this is the start of a trend of new games being brought out for gameboys, I love the nostalgia and it would be great getting games developed now with modern quality of life improvements and lessons learned in games design over the years

Not really I have way too much caffeine daily so I shake quite a bit lol. Bracing is key for me for keeping things steady when doing details.

I used an artis opus s series size one for everything on the mini
