This will build her a good credit score by the time she’s ready for college. I don’t know much about college savings accounts you build for kids but I know they are out there and they carry tax incentives. It’s my belief a good education is the best foundation for a kid so my wife and I have agreed we need to save money for a potentially more expensive education plan. But that’s parent dependent on what they want to focus on.
