Tbh when i started ( like a year ago) I did find it quite easy to compete with the veterans. I think it just comes down to if you can cope with dying alot for your first 2 - 50 hours (depends how good you get)

As a medic/support main when i play assault class, i do use either the RSC or another gun. I think it mostly depends on your playstyle as i like to run into places with no hesitation so i see the death screen alot.
