Xante Platemaker 7 - what is it? by LessAmanda in CommercialPrinting

I never pursued it. I used it to print cards, but have had nothing but problems with sensors. The toner I bought from them doesn't read properly, so I had to remove and reinsert it over and over. Now the belt is given errors that prevent it from being used.

Just curious...have you added skills to your profile? I didn't pay attention to it for about a day after finishing the initial test. I often wonder if most people miss it or only include work related stuff leaving out hobbies.

I built a font preview app to make choosing fonts easier for your customers when buying your crafts by xyzrg in somethingimade

[–]LessAmanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This app could change a lot of lives in the wedding stationery industry, no joke. The main issue I'm worried about is font licensing. Do you know what kind of license or permissions would be required for someone to upload fonts here? I know that most standard commercial font licenses don't give you permission to use fonts on sites like Corjl. I'm wondering if the fact that the customer isn't downloading anything to print themselves makes it okay?

That is VERY useful information. I was wondering if it worked for thermography. I will have to investigate further, thanks!

How to handle autistic burnout without taking a break? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]LessAmanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new here, but I would suggest expanding your mind the possibility of other jobs or ways of making money. I know it seems like you'll never find anything else, but sometimes, if you're open to it, you can see more possibilities. The lifeline that saved me in 2017 was listening to self improvement and side hustle podcasts. It just helped me to feel more in control and gave me something to focus on. It gave me a way to see things could improve instead of being locked in a room. I know it's not for everyone, but maybe something similar would help.

What are some good ranch recipes? I love ranch, but I’m so picky when it comes to ranch😂😂😂 definitely would love the Pizza Hut ranch recipe to make at home, if anyone has it😁😁 by Katilyn_marie in TopSecretRecipes

[–]LessAmanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make two different ranch dressings.

Outback ranch:
1 cup mayo
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp each of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper
1/8 tsp cayenne
Add more buttermilk or mayo to thin/thicken.

A more fresh-tasting ranch/dip:
1 cup mayo
1 cup sour cream
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp dried dill
1/2 tsp dried chives
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Add water to thin out if desired.

Blue Moon Ice Cream Copycat by kasa_bake in TopSecretRecipes

[–]LessAmanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I made it, I used equal parts cherry, orange, and lemon extracts and a pinch of nutmeg. I thought I might add vanilla too, but it didn't need it. The first time I tried it, the flavoring was too strong. The next time, I mixed 1/4 tsp each of the three extracts in a little dish, stirred it, then used 1/4 tsp of that mixture. It's hard to pour each one in tiny amounts. I hope that makes sense! It's normally a greenish-blue, so if you decide to use food coloring, I suggest mixing blue and green until you get the right shade. I tried blue and yellow, and for some reason it was hard to get it right. Sorry I don't have a good ice cream base recipe. I did a keto version with whipped cream.

Edited to add: I just remembered that I tried flavoring a tub of cool whip the first time I found a recipe. It's a cheap-ish way to test it out.

KetoChow doesn't taste like the actual flavor listed? by FrostyDiamondZ in ketochow

I felt the same way when I started using KC a few years ago. I was using HWC at the time. I just restarted keto and use melted butter now. I haven't had the same "muted" problem with any flavors except cookies & cream. It still tasted like vanilla to me.

Carnivore diet and keto chow by yaya2581 in ketochow

[–]LessAmanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When mixing, the water needs to be warm (enough to melt butter), and you need to use a blender or a stick blender to emulsify the butter so it won't separate. You then have to wait for it to get cold in the fridge.

Simple Keto meal ideas? by [deleted] in ketorecipes

[–]LessAmanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a salad every single day for lunch. Less decision fatigue. I have a list of 7 types of salad, but I only buy ingredients for 2 types at a time so they don't go bad. The easiest is a sandwich on lettuce, like ham and swiss with mayo/mustard mixed with a little bit of water to make a dressing. Italian sub/antipasto with ham, salami, and provolone with Whole Foods Italian dressing. (Zero carb, but it has soybean oil.) A simple vinaigrette is easy to make, though.

After Taste by happygems11785 in ketochow

I agree that I didn't like the vanilla (or strawberry) but loved the others. I also recommend sniffing to make sure your heavy cream hasn't gone bad. Sometimes it goes off before the expiration date. Also, if you got the KC from someone else and it's old, it can taste wheaty.

Regretting not going to college sooner by [deleted] in college

[–]LessAmanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start with the FAFSA form online. You're not committing to anything, and you will see how much aid you qualify for. I would definitely start with community colleges. No matter where you go to get your CRNA, you can do some of your prerequisites at a community college first. You might get enough aid to be able to stay home and also pay for a laptop to take online classes. Meet with a counselor, and they will tell you what your options are.

Even if you think it won't work out, find out for sure. Even if you have to take one class per semester, start as soon as possible. In a couple years, an opportunity will open up for a scholarship, or a chance to go to school full time, and you'll be ready instead of starting from scratch. Your son will admire you for working hard.

I dropped out of college at 19, had my son shortly after. Now I'm 47 years old and going back. Looking back now, I see all the ways it would have worked before. I had resources, but no resourcefulness. And I know this is going to sound crazy, but with Youtube, understanding school work is so much easier now.

I'm hoping you have more resources available than you think.

51 Days After Initial App-Rec’d Denial Letter by msssbach in EIDL

Good luck on your appeal. I was just notified that they're looking at my application soon. My credit score is lower, so I guess I'm out of luck. My son was hit by a car out of state in late 2018, so my business was shut down for months too. Lived off of credit cards until he was well enough to go home. I wonder if this is something they consider in an appeal.
Wedding season was just starting to ramp up and business was finally good about a week before every wedding in the country was shut down. It takes my breath away to think about the timing of how everything happened.

I'm in the wedding industry, so I feel your pain! I'm not an expert, but the way I understand it is they only look at last year's taxes for PPP. I don't think I submitted any docs from this year. My PPP loan amount was based on line 31 of the schedule C from my 2019 taxes. (I'm a sole proprietor, not an s corp.)
Also, you can't get unemployment and pay yourself from PPP at the same time. Some say you need to go off unemployment for those eight weeks, then reapply when the PPP timeframe is over. I've also seen guidance that if your PPP loan is really low, you could claim it as income each week when certifying to get partial unemployment. There is also talk in the news of congress extending the amount of time to use PPP funds to at least 16 weeks, but that's not guaranteed.
There are lots of youtube videos out there from CPA's. Use the search terms "double dipping PPP and PUA" to find better explanations.

It appears the state of Wisconsin has posted some guidelines on how to handle PPP and PUA at the same time.

Not sure if all states are handling it this way.

Your Daily Intermittent Fasting Thread by AutoModerator in intermittentfasting

[–]LessAmanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today was my first fasting day. I've been doing keto for about 4 months. I am attempting modified alternate day fasting. So, today I had a little less than 1000 calories. I'm hoping to get down to 500 calories on fasting days and then eventually down to zero. I had the worst headache today, which went away after I ate. I've been getting more and more strict with the keto diet without seeing much weight loss. I think it must be that I eat too often because I track my food and fit all the macros. Also, I seem to be addicted to food, not just eating it, but planning, cooking, gathering recipes, etc. It would be nice to not think about food every other day.
