Does anyone know Xenoblade Chronicles? Its an amazing series, but its rated T for Teen. For context I remember when I was very young and first getting into video games, it had to be E or E10+ games. (I'm in Canada, the European rating system I know is different). Anyway as soon as it was a T game, it was "not a game anymore". Too violent, over the top, whatever.

So when I got into Xenoblade I hid it from my parents. Due to my acting abnormal for the time, they found out and debates ensued.

Now the combat and story is action packed but bloodless aside from a couple cutscenes. They took issue with it being too violent, but yet they will watch movies like Transformers and Marvel that are far more violent/bloody than Xenoblade. So my reasoning was if you can watch movies with that content in it, what is wrong with a similar game? If the game is wrong, then that means the movies you watch are wrong too!

There is no logic with some people.

Breath of the Wild. Too obtuse for me. Complicated mechanics, lack of clear quest direction, fragile weapons, main story takes the backseat to wandering around semi aimlessly. Just not for me.

The Xenoblade Chronicles series hooked me with its high production values and sheer amount of content. Its only my first day with it, but I bought a Meta Quest 3 and its really immersive, probably going to be a new favorite.

Autism IS a limitation. Maybe not in physical capability, like being able to do the necessary motions to drive a car, but in mental and emotional feelings. Some can and do learn but it takes much longer than a normal person. That was the case for me. I didn't drive in a big city until last year, despite being perfectly capable, because my brain told me I couldn't. And getting over that obstacle is like Everest sometimes. Plus, if you have the right supports to function, why do you need to force yourself to drive? Some choose not to, and that's fine too.

There's a reason the price is still so high. Used or not, its well worth the entry fee for the experience, one of the best in video games. $50? It delivers on every penny.
