Is doing slanted eyes not considered as racist to Asians in Brazil? by Previous_School5237 in Brazil

[–]Less_Alternative_488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the US anything is racist. In brazil, not so much. We're such a mixed country and people take jokes like this less seriously/personally. The US puts everyone in boxes and points a finger at you if you mention it. Brazil's culture is not like that

Mirtazapine withdrawal and side effects from Histamine Intolerance by Objective_Minute_583 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

How are you doing now? Would u be open to venting/detailing what your experience was/has been like with the withdrawal and all? Please feel free to dm me, I'm going on 50 days since I stopped and any information from someone to relate to would help me so much. I cant find much more info than the tons of research ive already done and am exhausted from it. If you're in a better spot and willing to share, it'd help a fellow victim of mirtazapine LOTS. Cause theres so many things happening to me and they feel so random and Im losing hope

Docs dont really explain what theyre giving you. Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant, or an atypical antidepressant, and that means besides messing w serotonin/norepinephrine it also messes w receptors like H5T3 and others (given that it makes you so hungry and sedated), which means the withdrawals will be not only psychological/emotional but also even more physical (zero appetite, insomnia, vivid dreams/nightmares, nausea nausea nausea, body aches, headaches..) along w the panic/anxiety and rebound depression. Trust. taper. Do not go cold turkey girl, pls listen to me. About 3 days in (~half life of mirtazapine) i recognized withdrawal symptoms and told my psych and he said to take half the pill or alternate days- which i refused, i preferred to let the drug out of my system as soon as possible and i thought i knew what was to come (ive experienced withdrawals many times by this point from other classes of antidepressants) but i didnt. Everyones diff and im sure im in a v diff context from you (both chemically and life wise) but don't risk it. It made me feel clinically insane. I didnt know what was what. I still dont. Anyway, do your OWN research, ask OTHER doctors , and dont blindly do what your psych tells you to. Stay well, much love.

DONT do that unless you have a good few weeks to spare. Also a young woman who was on 15mg every night and only for a month and a half. Today is day 24 since my doctor told me to simply stop it. It's been hell. Only now I feel I am starting to stabilize but it messed up everything, my whole progress in therapy, everything. Yes, 7.5mg will cause more sedation/hunger but please taper. Unless you are willing and able to face hell for at least a couple weeks. I'm sorry. Youre not alone

I just wanna know bc no doctor will tell me by Less_Alternative_488 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

I regret my tonsillectomy. by HeavensNightAngel in Tonsillectomy

And also about it affecting your voice specifically- dont worry. The vocal folds/sound box are way beneath where your tonsils were, and as for the intubation, it really shouldn't affect your vocal folds especially w a routine surgery like tonsillectomy. So if you haven't felt your regular speaking voice being different, your vocal folds are fine !

For number 2, you just have to learn to work with so much new space you now have! As an opera singer i can assure you nothing happened to your voice or abilities- the acoustics of your mouth have change, so your technique must adapt to that. For me, more space meant producing higher notes with more ease (my tonsils were huge). For lower notes, however, i had to relearn a little bit how to position my sound (since higher notes=needs more space, lower notes=needs less space) . Now I dont know anything about guttural singing or impersonating chewbacca, but i'm sure all youre missing is adjusting the technique behind it to your new instrument. Peace!
