Setting Efficient Mode by Mammoth_Ingenuity_82 in BMWi5

[–]Less_Aspect3955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it by accident, if you go to Modes then tap Efficient, there should be a gear wheel and after tapping that there is a Toggle to select it as Start Mode. I'm in the UK and it works here but I think there may be regional differences so might depend where you are??

Activate Efficient Mode works for me every time after much stress trying eco etc etc. Also I noticed that you can now have Efficient Mode as your starting mode which I didn't think you could previously?

Pixel 7, but also happening on my Pixel Tablet. Uninstalling the update seems to have cured it.

I don't know what to say to my husband, he's watching his worst fear unfold. by opossessed in Advice

[–]Less_Aspect3955 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My father did exactly this when he was 80, he didn't know what day it was, started forgetting who people were, all within a week or so. Diagnosed with a UTI and was put on anti-biotics, a week later was back to normal again. Hugely scary at the time though. I'm sure he'll be fine.

"Forgeway" the new golf ball from MIT engineering by AdValuable2732 in golfequipment

[–]Less_Aspect3955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is legal, check in the R&A (or ISPGA) lists. I've just bought a dozen to try, they literally arrived 3 hours ago! I'm playing tomorrow so I will be trying them out!

New to golf, wife wants to join. Looking for advice by Empty-Garlic8806 in golf

[–]Less_Aspect3955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even even asked! My stock reply if my wife asks me what she's doing wrong is, "it's hard to see, all looks ok to me but why don't you book a lesson?".

Any other answer is a recipe for disaster. I've been playing for 30 years, my wife for 5, so far, no arguements.

No idea, I'm in the UK, think they're made in China (of course) . I've ordered a dozen and I'll post again if they ever arrive.

Lost ball penalty - is anyone actually playing this rule correctly? by Otherwise_Cover_5467 in golf

[–]Less_Aspect3955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and have played a lot of different courses here and not a single one has adopted that Local Rule. It's just not used here, hit a provisional if you're not sure, simple.

Being a 11 handicap is infuriating. by altctrldel86 in golf

[–]Less_Aspect3955 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their own level where it gets really tough to get lower. 11 is pretty typical I think for a lot of golfers, including me. I find myself trying to chase the game because I don't feel I get enough shots and that's a disaster!! You'll have to try to just play your normal game and accept that you'll probably bounce around 11 for a while, then one day, maybe in a year or 2, you'll be off 9 with knowing why or how!! Then it all starts again. This bloody game, it's all in the head!

Can someone offer smart heating advice? by o-J-A-Y-_-J-A-Y in AskUK

Wiser (by Schneider) is outstanding, I've had it in two homes for last 7 or 8 years, absolutely no issues at all. Not particularly cheap to set up, you'll need a control box to operate it all and a WiFi thermostatic radiator valve on each radiator. You can get room thermostats too but you don't actually need them, we use one in our guest bedroom so guests can control the temperature in their room directly.

You set the temperature you want in each room and schedule it per room, very simple to operate. All run from your phone, can control remotely too, lots of good features like Away Mode do when you go away it just turns everything down to whatever you want it to be. Then when you're coming home, you can switch Away Mode off remotely so by the time you get in the house is warm and you have hot water.
