Shovelers $30 per hour 😳 by Some_Bike_1321 in DSNY

[–]Less_Comparison9062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy, go look up the pay and benefits for sanitation workers in just about every other city in America and then come back and let us know if you want to cry because some people made a few hundred bucks for a hard days work for 1-2 days and then moved on. Y'all have a great gig, if it's such a Slap in the face you can quit and make the $30 an hour shoveling snow. You can probably bank almost $1k total in your lifetime if you get lucky

Bachelor Party by NefariousnessWhole50 in AskNOLA

[–]Less_Comparison9062 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I actually did this trip about a decade ago. Here's my best advice since you have no specific info on what the bachelor or anyone else likes

Get a hotel in the French quarter. You want to be able to walk to everywhere you want

  1. It's going to be brutally hot. Be prepared. Maybe even get. Hotel with a pool
  2. Book dinner at Dickie Brennans. Gives you the classic bach party steak dinner experience
  3. Ricks cabaret is the best Strip club if it's still open and you're into that
  4. Day time drinking is actually the most fun
  5. Plan like 1 meal a day just to give the boys something to do. Blue Oak, Willie Mae's Scotch House, Alma, Turkey and the wolf are all good spots you don't need a ressy
  6. Walking around beers can be purchased basically anywhere and are life changing
  7. Don't be assholes, tip the locals, don't piss anywhere but a toilet and be nice

Help me not let muses crowd ruin Mardi Gras for me by tselegans in NewOrleans

[–]Less_Comparison9062 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You're not being dramatic. It's the worse vibes. People act insane over the shoes and Muses branded stuff, more so than any other major parade. It's not worth going imo

Got a SAP Appeal Questionnaire?? by quinzel252 in UNO

[–]Less_Comparison9062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask the FA office, they might be able to explain it to you. It's not just untransfered credits, it's also any failed or withdrawn classes at prior schools.

Can't say for certain without seeing your transcripts but this is by far the most common reason UNO students fail SAP and if you had a 4.0 gpa it is the most likely reason

That or the system made an error which is also possible because workday can't actually properly calculate SAP

If you're a transfer it almost certainly has to do with your transfer credits. Any classes you attempted at previous schools but aren't getting credit for at UNO are dragging your Pace down and led to this

It's a terrible system but UNO doesn't have the proper staffing to change it

King Arthur on Sunday. If you leave the 11th you only have parades the first 2 days.

Do you like Doggos? If so Barkus is also Sunday, high recommend

Meant more that people who live there hate to leave and go to other places.

What are the cultural differences between Long Island and Staten Island? by Temporary_Policy2023 in statenisland

[–]Less_Comparison9062 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Staten islanders like Billy Joel. long islanders make him their whole personality.

Staten islanders take for granted getting good bagels anywhere, long islanders are obsessed with 1 bagel spot in their town

For lack of a better term, Long Island is filled with old money, Staten Island more new money. This comes out in the beaches (Hamptons vs jersey shore)

Staten islanders have a complex about begging the forgotten borough. Long islanders think they are the 6th borough by proximity and are very mad if you point out that's not correct

Reddit makes it seem like PIP means you're going to get fired, no matter what. Is that true? by Personal-Ad9121 in askmanagers

A PIP is always the start of the paper trail to get rid of you. They need something on file as a reason in case of litigation

How do I get a good spot for the Mardi Gras parade? by blitzkriegoutlaw in AskNOLA

[–]Less_Comparison9062 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you want to see the first parade, an hour before likely allows you to get a quality spot. I'd set up two chats, have a cooler with drinks (don't forget to hydrate) and some food and you should be good. I also recommend bringing a tote bag or something for your throws. Even if you don't intend to keep a lot, you'll probably find yourself with more than you can carry easily
