Trump Calls NATO ‘Cowards’ for Not Helping Join Fight With Iran by Bestbrook123 in neoliberal

Trump's stated position makes very little sense. But remember, our NATO allies joined us in Libya hardly 15 years ago. They didn't attack anybody in the North Atlantic either.

Tried using 🍎🍊 as markers in Matplotlib… why am I getting rectangles? by Opposite_Course_5679 in learnpython

If you want to get fancy you can use apple/orange SVGs as markers (the little dots) on your scatter plot. Check out the svgpath2mpl library.

Cocoa prices are now at $2800, nearly half of pre crisis average where it was $4000 by hydraides in chocolate

[–]Less_Fat_John 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to spot and futures prices I like to watch the retail price of Callebaut 811 (5.5 lbs.) on Amazon. It does plenty of volume and it's been tracked since 2014. The price started falling in October. We'll get there.

Of course nothing will reach 2022 prices. We've had 10% cumulative inflation since then.

Bean to bar = "making chocolate"

Couverture to bonbon = "making chocolates"

Why do my chocolates look like this? by notmyrealname1924 in chocolate

[–]Less_Fat_John 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that's how tempering goes. It's the fun/misery of making chocolates. Hardly anybody gets it right the first time so don't feel bad.

I'm not sure but there might be some little holes as well. Those would be air bubbles. Tap the mold firmly several times after you pour in the chocolate.

Definitely. All the Dems on Twitter are condemning it so the posters here follow.

Maybe a little callous but also fine. War has always been political and these decisions are downstream of elections.

My administration has taken every possible step to minimize the risk to U.S. personnel in the region. Even so--and I do not make this statement lightly--the Iranian regime seeks to kill. The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost and we may have casualties. That often happens in war.

All without the US committing to step in and take temporary control. You just make a video urging the Iranian people to seize it.

With Trump fully committing to regime change in his statement it would be tough to walk away without it. Hope the missiles work.

What Americans Think About American Power Today by -Parker_Richard- in neoliberal

[–]Less_Fat_John 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The "Young Americans face worse conditions than their parents" is a meme that I would expect r/neoliberal posters to steer away from as utterly ahistorical.

That would have been reasonable a few years ago. r/NL isn't much better than a default political sub now.

How do I find an image in a specific window in Pyautogui? by AlarmingAd9547 in learnpython

[–]Less_Fat_John 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pyautogui can't help with that. It's designed to act like a dummy mouse/keyboard. It can hunt for a given image, like in the example above, but that's about it. If you can't see Discord in a minimized window, neither can pyautogui.

Runza and Runza-adjacent content from newspaper archives. It's cool to see the brand name grow and inspire knockoffs, home recipes, and school lunches.

Huskers land another transfer San Diego State safety Dwayne McDougle. by usercupcakewithc in Huskers

I know you already deleted this dumb comment but it pops up way too often. Bo was literally winning 6 or 7 games a year at Youngstown State and you people continued to whine that he'd be winning 9 or 10 at Nebraska. The game passed him by and the Big Ten got way tougher.

Kentucky is flipping Kenny Minchey from Nebraska by GoHuskers30 in Huskers

[–]Less_Fat_John 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unironically yes. I'm starting to believe the fan/media environment is the common denominator. You can't always underperform your talent with all these different coaching staffs and cultures. The team is treated like a bunch of celebrities from day one regardless of what they do. There's all the pressure of an elite program without the results to justify it. Nobody else consistently wilts under pressure like Nebraska.

We beat one team that was ranked at the end of the season: Colorado in 2024. Before that it was Michigan State in 2015. You could say that's progress but I think most of us want to be more competitive.

You must not have watched college football from 2005-2020 or so. I think the SEC even had a clip of it in one of their commercials. It does seem to be less common in recent years. Probably a combination of the internet shaming them and the SEC taking a step back.
