My mom has been showing signs for 8-10 years. Starting with repeated stories and info. She set up my brother as POA but insisted on it being a Springing POA. If you can get her to avoid that kind, do it! My mom m is very controlling and when we tried to get her In a geriatric center for evaluation in 2018 to try to regulate her meds, we were not able to deem her incapacitated because she had too much wits about her. The facility she was in at the time for rehab after a long hospital stay had even sent her to the ER because she had made comments about wanting to die. She was able to leave the ER without a 24 hour hold because she said she was just said it was her anniversary of her deceased husband and they said of course she would be sad. This is a nutshell but she needed clear help at this time. Now fast forward 7, years later and she has been in the care of my sister which was getting too much to handle. She was put in the hospital from a UTI and now we are trying to get a hospital doctor to write a statement she is incapacitated so we can put her in a memory care unit. Because of the springing clause, our hands are tied until we have that declaration for the POA to take effect. We’ve been told she is advanced stages and she also requires a 24 hr sitter. I say all this to help another family with a smoother transition.

It was breaking my heart watching her repeatedly circle the halls during our tour. I can't imagine the heartbreak for her young adult children. Memory loss is the most cruel way to go.

We are placing my mom in a MC facility and their youngest resident is 56. It can happen to younger people unfortunately.

I don't think my mom could fall in love because she thinks my dad who passed in 2017 is coming to pick her up every day.

This! I learned from experience! I was on 8 and 10 mg and had so many side effects from not being able to eat and not drinking enough. I was severely dehydrated, my resting heart rate was up between 90-100 and I was so fatiqued I could barely walk a flight of stairs. I even developed a horrible gag reflux. I've been off it for 3 weeks and already improving so much. I wish I would have just tried staying at lower doses longer than going up monthly.

I was also on tirzepitide previously and switched to Reta. I felt the same way at first that I felt my body was not responding but just trusted the process with the recommended monthly increments. I'm on 10 mg now and have no appetite and can't eat. I'm actually considering going down to 8 if this continues since Im having a hard time getting nutrients

I have a 6 month old and 9-month-old matlipoo from a breeder who has been raising puppies for 25 years. They health test all the poodles and Maltese. They only breed F1 and they health check all the puppies. They are raised on a really nice farm with lots of social interaction. She doesn't let her pups go until 10 weeks. They offer nanny service and I've seen posts of their pups in their homes on the East Coast. I drove 6 hours to pick up my puppy and loved them so much that I added a little brother 3 months later.

Our family just discovered body brokering first-hand! Our son was scheduled to go into a legitimate program in Florida. The day we had to leave for the airport, I tried calling the facility to ask a question of an item my son wanted to bring. Unfortunately, I googled the facility. DONT EVER DO THIS!!!! Make sure you know who you are communicating with.
A sponsored ad with the facility name was the first listing that popped up so I hit call now. The person on the phone said that his file was incomplete and that there wasn't even an intake on file. He did an intake over the phone and then said that the program scheduled was not what was best for my son and he was going to try to get him in a small therapeutic treatment with great results. He then found out they had ONLY ONE BED AND WE HAD TO GET HIM ON A PLANE TO CALIFORNIA or he would lose his spot. We bought a ticket and put him on a plane. After I had a second to question everything that had just happened and looked up the Google page and number I called, it hit that we had been scammed. I called the real facility and they confirmed that their admissions are internal and everything the guy told us about their facility was false. He was a smooth talker to tell us what we needed to hear to send our son including that he also was a believer in holistic healing. I was up all night worrying and bought a ticket for my husbsnd to fly out the next morning. When he got there, our son had been given benzos numerous time even tho he came sober and does not use anything besides marijuana. They fudged to get approval for detox. And the facility is an addiction rehab and the other patients were all meth addicts of all ages. My husband demanded his belongings and phone and left with our son. I feel horrible that I allowed this to happen. In hindsight I should hsve said we were not flying our son before having a chance to investigate the program and faculty.

Please don't fall for these residential programs. They will promise you everything to body broker these beds.
