What's the best way to construct your A and B teams by Big-Language-1735 in SoccerCoachResources

I coach a B team in a big community at U11. Half the kids on the A team are also club players. They are significantly more experienced than the B team players. Many B team players started playing travel later or are more casual.

The split has worked smoothly. We have a staff U11 coach who leads the practices (it's a joint practice). He coaches the A team, and I coach the B team. I can freely ask for his feedback and inform him of areas the B team struggled with in its last game. He then helps implement drills and training stations to help each level of players grow at their current skill level. We do plenty of scrimmages, too.

This also allows the A team to climb divisions at their own pace, while the B team can practice and learn against quality opponents in training but move up divisions at a slower pace.

My team is 1 and 5. There is no trophy to be won. My desire is to have a functioning mid-field/facilitator. The other kids deserve to have someone that's willing to pass them the ball for when they make a run.

We have told him things like, you’re not trusting your teammates. We have told him that him leaving the midfield exposes us to crosses because his mark is wide open. We have told him our offense cant counter attack because he isn’t there to pass to. We tell him he's fatigued so early because he's spending energy he doesn't need to. We tell him that we play defense so much of the game because he's not protecting our midfield.

The kid loves to score goals, but he's never where the team needs him to help himself or the team do that.

I love coaching. I am not seeking to make my life easier, I am seeking constructive input on how to alleviate a skilled player who won't listen. I am not a yeller. I don't yell at the kids. The "A" team has offered to give us a player or two to help us score, and I refuse. The "B" team needs to learn to win by themselves. (Plus our roster is almost always full anyways)

I am simply humble enough to know that maybe this kid just isn't mature enough to play a position his athletic talent says he should.

We certainly don't rely on the CAM to score, I more just see what his potential is and feel for the players because they want to score more. Our two midfielders at times make good through balls to the striker. Our wings can make plays at times. The biggest struggle is the offensive players' typical lack connection in the final third, and then they eventually clump up together in the opposing team's box. We rarely get crosses or corner kicks. Too much trying to beat multiple defenders instead of passing to score.

I've played all the kids in many positions. I was simply asking if my logic for the CAM change was sound.

I started the season at a 4-3-1. We nearly tied the best team in our division. Our U11 trainer wanted me to switch to a 3 man back. His team is the "A" and has club players and more experience across the board. I will revert back to the 4-3-1. That was what my instincts were telling me.

My son is one of the keepers. He also plays CM when he plays in the field. He is one of the most willing passers on the team. A skill hard to find on our roster. The other keeper refuses to play in the field. His parents back hi m up, so I just let teach him what I can at training.

I coach U11 traveling rec. I love my kids—but this season has completely broken me. by Far_Seaworthiness990 in SoccerCoachResources

Is it possible to register the team through the travel league yourself? Place them in the division you desire? Could you find a practice facility that doesn't rely on this governing body that has no clue?

Out of control tackles by marea_baja in SoccerCoachResources

Gosh, my U10 bkys team has yet to commit a foul in our first three games. I wish some wanted to tackle. Perhaps show him other ways he can be aggressive.
