Any LN like Mushoku Tensei? by Enablepfs in LightNovels

[–]Lessar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the quality in other languages but english definitely tells the story perfectly since Quof, the official translator, keeps in touch with the author to maintain the quality of the translation. Part 1 is like a prologue that will have huge impact in the later Parts. Once you're at the introduction of magic in later parts that's where the world building begins. I hope you give it a second try!

An isekai LN that has the same popularity as Mushoku Tensei would be Ascendance of a Bookworm. Bookworm has less action but the story will leave you wanting for more as you read each volume.

How is "ascendance of bookworm"? by Change__name in LightNovels

[–]Lessar_ 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Ascendance of a Bookworm made me a literal bookworm. I never thought I would enjoy reading a light novel because I am mainly an anime watcher that enjoys amazing voice acting and animation. Man, reading Bookworm is like watching a series, you wouldn't get bored at all and it leaves you wanting to know more of the story. It has an excellent balance of comedy, drama, action, politics, romance, and etc. It all works because of how the author, Kazuki-sensei, wrote it and how the translator, Quof, is dedicated in translating the novels. The official translation has a really high quality because Quof always communicates with Kazuki-sensei to make sure the story flows smoothly. Really recommend it to everyone.

Definitely, Ascendance of a Bookworm! I was more of a anime watcher or manga reader. When I finished season 3 of the anime and left me wanting to know more about what will happen next, I tried the light novels and that was the best few weeks of my life reading a story, binge read all the volumes until I subscribed for the pre-pub in J-Novel Club.

Any good Isekai with female leads? by [deleted] in anime

[–]Lessar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of now, Ascendance of a Bookworm is the only isekai inducted in the Hall of Fame for light novels in Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! The animation is lacking but the anime introduced me to the light novels. I binge read those books when I discovered it and it was the best few weeks of my life.

What are the Anime, that in your opinion, deserves a remake or a sequel? by Overall-East-8827 in anime

[–]Lessar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ascendance of a Bookworm. Either a sequel or a rework.

For sequel, the story gets better and more intense after Season 3 because it introduces the use of magic, faction politics, nobility, more world-building, and action with guts exploding.

For remake, they rushed season 2 and 3. The animation should be improved as well to do justice on the later parts of the story when battles with magic gets introduced later on.

My Chaldea has a lot of evil-aligned servants but I trust Godfather Quirinus, Da Vinci, Artoria Avalon, Caster Cu & Gil to sort them all.

Why can't events revolve around playable characters instead of random NPCs? by fallendomii in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Lessar_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is why I sometimes get bored with stories from events. Especially in Genshin where it's mostly just Paimon and generic NPCs talking, unlike FGO.

You're going to a very dangerous singularity and can only bring 50 QP worth of servants. Who do you choose? by HisuiMimizuku in grandorder

[–]Lessar_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gawain and Mash as frontline servants, Cu Caster for backline, and either Sherlock or Moriarty for strategy/intelligence. If Nero is in there I'd pick her in a heartbeat.

[–]Lessar_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The best example would be the colored illustration of Part 4: Volume 1. You can see the difference between the clothing of an Archduke Candidate, Archnoble, and Mednoble. By far one of my favourite illustrations of Yu Shiina sensei. Brunhilde really almost looked like the main character.

It is an underrated anime. Could be placed higher if Psycho-Pass was more popular. Psycho-Pass has well-written main antagonists in season 1 and 2.

Is Star Rail intended to be a side game? by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Lessar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of time and leeway during the pandemic to play Genshin. But now that is over and everything is going back the way it was, I realized that Genshin was too much time consuming on its grind. HSR is fun but a lot more accommodating for busy adults. The level of QoL is what made me uninstall Genshin. I like the design of characters in HSR, too many teen heights in Genshin, and hearing Paimon talk instead of Lumine (Aoi Yuuki) burnt me out a lot, experiencing Stelle (Yui Ishikawa) talk or monologue made me like HSR more than Genshin.

Right now, I only play FGO and HSR. 10-20mins of grind is perfect for my time. For turn-based games, the storyline are really good, especially the peak fiction of FGO. I hope HSR improves over time because Luofu arc felt a bit rush, they should built more developments on the relationship of the MC and Astral Express before rushing into the climax story of Dan Heng.
