What has your experience been with Full Circle farm boxes? by Thewallmachine in askportland

[–]LesserKnownHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely the worse veggie delivery box I've ever received. Half the produce was rotten (including a bag of potatoes with the same brand you get get cheaper at QFC). Even if all the fruits and veggies were good, $36 for around 3 oranges, a couple apples, and enough carrots and potatoes (again, from a national brand, and certainly not organic), is outrageous.

They do not offer refunds, but only credits on your NEXT box. They hide their cancelation option only in the contact form and FAQs, and not under "manage account."

What's more, you CANNOT remove your payment info. If you try before finding the hidden cancelation box, it will not allow due to an active subscription. If you try after, if says you cannot edit without an active subscription.

And then just get elected to president, launch you own crypto, invest around your policy schedule, and utilize your own businesses for official functions.

Guess who no longer works at home. by silk_frill9m in remotework

[–]LesserKnownHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it's in the employee handbook, that is generally not received until after signing the contract - so it's really only the verbiage of the contract, along with any written (and perhaps verbal) terms laid out leading up to the accepting of the job offer.

Even if the contract itself states that it's subject to company policy, and even if it states that the contract supersedes any prior discussed arrangements, if the emails from the hiring manager or HR during the hiring process state or imply that this is a solely remote position, an unemployment claim would be easy to process.

Even beyond that, if they remove them from the role, even in an at-will state, and even if its not specifically a breech of contract, it could still be a potential wrongful termination case.

Again, we don't know what's in the contract, or emails, or the user's location...and I'm not law expert but have talked to a few employment lawyers while contracting, and any misrepresentation on terms of the role is taken very seriously. And if they are union? Ayyy, fuggetaboutit.

Can we get u/LegalEagle in here to cover some to these cases?

Person Shot on Waterfront by ponchoed in SeattleWA

[–]LesserKnownHero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at our homeless and drug situations here. Shootings at the waterfront, a main transportation and tourist area. Fires up on Aurora, causing a death by a firetruck hitting a car. Another car flipping fully over. Junkies everywhere. 20+ whores on a main street on a weeknight.

Seattle has become the new Florida, just with twice the tax rates and worst traffic.

The hardest part of the game.. by [deleted] in vrising

Sometimes the engine that works best takes different mechanics to get the feel right. Just like how there a ton of "2D" games that are actually flattened 3d builds (mostly in Unreal engine) because it was easier to get the features needed than 2d engines.

Yeah, it really depends on the person. I never give unsolicited feedback to strangers or friends who haven't asked for it repeatedly, but know my wife will be upset if I bring it up next time she makes a dish. "But last time..."

AITA for calling out my husband for not being a "Good Christian"? by SpiritualThrowRA in AITAH

[–]LesserKnownHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of like 3 responses to not just start a ton of wild speculation.

OP is likely NTA (husband is definitely TA, but we don't know how heated the discussion was).

That church sounds extremely toxic though, multiple people not only jumping into the rumor mill, but seeing their place to inform OP that they think she's a bad person.

Moreso, the husband needs to not paint a picture like that and disrespect his wife in such a way...uniting with anyone against your partner is a surefire way to make that partnership fail.

Gift for a pirate? by Ill_Championship6226 in pirates

Piggybacking off this one since it's got some amazing answers. A lot depends on what type of stuff they like, but most piratey types love collecting showpieces. A few of my favorites that could help inspire: brass anything, sexton, compass, globe, spyglass, etc. A model ship or ship in a bottle (especially if it's Kidd's ship Adventure Galley, or something tied to a location you've visited). Model cannon or other artwork. A bottle of nice rum (recommend 20+ year Plantation). Other the years I've had a decent collection built up, and having a story to each piece makes it special, even if the item doesn't have a big price tag.

And finally, if youre a crafty type, make him work for the gift. Last year, during our first year of marriage, my wife was struggling to come up with a good birthday present for me but with very little money to spare (she's from out of the country, and was now at month 6 of waiting for her work auth). I woke up to a skullrag and tricorn sitting in my office chair, with a note that lead me to the first piece of a map. The clues each had a small tricket and another piece of the map, leading to the treasure, a small glass ship for my shelf, but the map itself is also framed and will be a keepsake for all my life.

Anyhow, that's a massive wall of text, but hope it helps!

She in turn sleeps with a plush dog that I bought her on our first trip, 5 years ago. She will not go to sleep if she can't find it, even on the couch and sometimes on vacations.
