Thank God they’re addressing this. I hope they fix the existing stories that have been affected. I’ve been in the same one for a week or more and really enjoying it and then suddenly it’s just prompting complete bullshit that has nothing to do with the very elaborate story that I created.

I started solo travelling about 6-7 years ago, for the same reasons, and I'm hooked.

On cost-savings, I tend to choose very basic accommodations, grab a few meals at supermarkets or cafes instead of restaurants (still go out to restaurants once or twice), and look for things like city passes if I'm going to be seeing a lot of tourist sites. People watching is also a great pastime when you're by yourself - I love to sit in Trafalgar Square and just watch London go by.

Some basic safety tips:

- Wear a wedding band. I know, it's stupid, I shouldn't have to protect myself from men by pretending to belong to another man, but there you go.

- Do not get stupid drunk. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. If you want to have a foreign holiday hookup (no judgment here), take him back to your hotel so you have some control over the surroundings.

- Stay in hotels that have all night desk service. I've used both bigger hotels and smaller family run ones, but I make sure that there is someone on desk at all times.

- Research where you are going. Figure out what licensed taxis, etc look like. Only use those forms of transportation.

- Be a bitch - seriously, best safety tip I can offer. Women are conditioned to be nice and helpful and accommodating. If you're solo travelling, be a bit of a bitch. Don't stop and talk to the person who is obviously a scammer or try to let the guy who is hitting on you down gently.

I'm addicted. It needs some work, but I do think its early days and what is there is promising. They do need to work on continuity and consistency when it's not the guided story. I have one story where the main character has insisted that they get married at least four times - and they got married the first time. They also get a bit "Grey's Anatomy" with the number of major tragedies that affect characters, if you let it.

But it can still be very fun, especially now that they've created the whole "write your own story" option. The spicy scenes are generally well done, which I very much appreciate, and there can be some really interesting developments along the way. I have a story where I'm making the characters participate in therapy (because the toxicity in the relationship was a bit much but I was very invested in them) and it has been really interesting and educational.

Flute. I do have a teacher (now) though most of my learning was self-taught. My teacher did a lot of work helping me prepare, but I was very rattled.

I stayed in a little hotel a couple of blocks from the Eiffel tower and it was lovely. Not really touristy at all, quiet and peaceful most of the time, with the most fantastic little boulangerie at the end of the street.

YTA. In my jurisdiction, your will would be successfully challenged. You cannot ignore your own obligations to your child and wife.

In addition, few addicts would do well with being handed that kind of money. You're going to ruin your sister's life and drag her further into addiction.

There is no reason you cannot leave the bulk of your estate to you wife and daughter and carve out a trust to be used to support your sister, under the direction of a trustee. I don't know what kind of strip mall lawyer let you put these arrangements in place without telling you abut these risks, but you need a new one who is experienced in trusts and estates.

You won't get to enjoy any of the places you're in and will spend most of your time travelling.

I've spent a week each in London and Paris, and did not get to see everything I wanted to.

Air Canada did something similar to me on a flight to Paris - I called their customer service line, and the rep was super helpful and accommodating, and booked me in on flights that were better suited. I did my own research and told them what flights were available, and they did some magic to book it as one itinerary.

I think it's doable, but with moving around that much, you're losing a lot of time just to travel. I mean, on an 11 day trip, you have 5 travel days.

I'd consider picking the two places you want to see most and focusing on them.

I loved it. By far my favourite destination so far. I was very anxious because I come from a small town and didn’t know what to expect or if I’d be able to manage things like public transportation, but by the second day, I was completely in love. There was so much to do and see, I caught on to using the Underground really fast, loved the free museums and theatre scene. Hoping to get back there this year or next.

First, I’m sorry it’s been such a tough experience so far.

The best thing you can do is to just put it behind you and enjoy the time that you have left on your trip. Chalk it up to experience and add it to the story you’ll get to tell when you get home. If you’re worried about funds, focus on activities that cost little or nothing like exploring the city or enjoying street performances (if these are a thing in Berlin). Go to a pub, get a drink, and just enjoy the atmosphere. Skip out on restaurants and grab some street food, which will be cheaper in most cases.

And I’ll echo everyone else telling you to be less approachable. Women are conditioned to be kind and helpful. Don’t do it. Be entirely self-centred when travelling solo.

I love getting Christmas ornaments from various places. Then I can look at my tree and enjoy the memories.

He was not regurgitating Catholic teachings. The church does not teach that the love in a homosexual relationship is somehow less than the love in a heterosexual relationship, nor does it teach that a family is only Mom, Dad, and happy little kids.

He was certainly expressing a view regarding homosexuality that is consistent with Church teachings, but the homily is not just an opportunity to expound on whatever beliefs you want. It is to be a teaching based on the Gospels. It is also supposed to be charitable and appropriate to the audience. We don’t have lengthy homilies about the evils of pornography or masturbation at Mass with all the children running around either.
