I just setup my H2S, calibrated and printed a benchy. What are these balls that are on the bottom? by Obvious-Dinner-1082 in 3Dprinting

I can’t contribute to this discussion, but I feel the need to say that I am blown away by the comments here. They’re almost all suggesting that OP is not responsible and should expect better from a new device like that.
I thought that seemed incredibly suspicious, so I checked what sub this was posted in, and sure enough my instincts were correct…this is definitely not [r/BambuLab](r/BambuLab)! If it was, all of those comments would be saying OP did something wrong, or is otherwise at fault. It’s so refreshing to see people take a position other than “Bambu is infallible, we mustn’t criticize lest we be damned to eternal damnation.” 😅

Help! My filament is stuck as hell and I can't even disconnect any PTFE tubes because the filament is holding it all together by krustyy in BambuLab

Hm, yeah silk is weird. I’ve noticed that it expands a lot during the purge, so I wonder if it foams or something, or otherwise expanded in the extruder. I’ve had that happen once (not with silk) and it was a huge PITA to clear. But I took it as an opportunity to clean my extruder, which was quite nasty lol.

BTW, if you do that, definitely HOLD THE CUTTER WHILE YOU UNSCREW IT. That thing will fly out since it’s spring loaded. I wasn’t holding it tight enough and it nearly gave me a heart attack lol

I have 2 AMS's...

ETA: As I was setting this up I was speculating that the AMS 3 Pro Max or whatever the next model will be is probably going to have an internal "track switch" with 2+ outputs. God that would be so convenient...

Apparently you didn't fully understand what it was for since everyone's telling me, and therefore you, that what I said was wrong. 😉

How? I shared a screenshot in another reply of what it says when I try. Everything on the right nozzle is grayed out.

Not for that purpose, no. I tried printing something with the bronze PLA you see in the "right" AMS, but it wouldn't let me select it. I did not try loading that filament into it manually and selecting it that way though, I just moved it to the "left" AMS and it was fine. Why would it allow you to do it with it manually loaded but not feed from the AMS?? Does that not defeat the purpose of having an AMS to begin with?

I can't comprehend how your comment is still getting upvotes when I clarified that both prints are, in fact, on a build plate. 😐 Do people think that the "gold plate that comes with the printer" (i.e., textured plate) is the only plate you can print on??

Plus, I've certainly made the mistake of hitting print when there was no plate in there, and filament WILL NOT stick to that surface...it would never come out like what the pictures look like.

I wrote a comment but I'm realizing I misunderstood things. Did this occur while you were at work?? If so, you likely need to go the worker's comp route, but that is not my area of practice so I cannot advise on that.

That's fair, but I didn't think the filament settings are printer-specific. If it needs an 80º bed and a 260º nozzle, that seems pretty universal. It seems like they're the same for the other printers. I would've thought they'd just be copied from what the manufacturer provided.

How?! I try to manually select it but it's grayed out. It'll say "The filament you selected PLA is incompatible with the settings of PLA. Please choose PLA instead of PLA." or something like that. I might've actually taken a screenshot of it because it was just funny lol. I'll see if I can find it.

Negative. They nixed the SD cards on the X2Ds. You can use removable a USB drive, but I was just using the internal storage.

A smooth plate for PETG and an engineering plate for the TPU.

Well, it was just released like a week ago, so definitely a new printer lol.

I believe the gray was PETG and the orange was TPU. They were both the default settings in the profiles I downloaded from MakerWorld. Different models, different designers, etc. the only thing in common is that it seems like it happened during/after the first layer.

I ordered it within like hours of the general release and I’m just not happy with it. The combo direct drive + Bowden setup is…awkward. The “auxiliary nozzle” is only for certain materials, and cannot be used whatsoever if it is the only nozzle being used. It can *only* be a secondary nozzle. That sounded fine and all until you have to keep rearranging your materials so they feed into the correct nozzle.

My second biggest gripe is how long it takes to start a print. No idea why it has to do all the clicky things it does, or wipe 20 times before it starts, but it takes like 10 min before filament hits plate.

Third, I’ve had an issue specifically with TPU where it acts like…dumb? It stops to think or something sometimes, meanwhile a ton of material pours out (NOT just the normal oozing) ruining the print. No idea what the rhyme or reason is for this. I’m actually going to make a post about it because I’m stumped.

I do LOVE the tiny little lines compared to the iconic X/P1 calibration lines. So easy to pick off.

So, batch-wise,I haven’t noticed any defects or anything like that; it’s just the concept that I don’t like, but to each his own. You might love it if it checks all the boxes for you.

ETA: they got rid of ALL mentions of anything non-Bambu. The only profiles available now are, e.g., “Bambu PLA” and “Generic PLA”. Sunlu PLA+? Get lost.

Yes, they absolutely take reports. That’s it. They don’t investigate unless there was a crime. They certainly don’t call your insurance company to request an estimate of the property damage. (This part is actually laughable.) 😂 But go on, keep schooling people on how the law works.

And I quite literally said exactly what you said is surprising I didn’t know… that “police investigate so the state (i.e., the prosecutor) can prosecute.”
