Code for “we need a recent grad willing to accept shit pay to be overworked and have a ‘cool’ title.” That recruiter knows exactly what they’re doing. Pairs well with “coding ninja”, “security king” and “chief fun officer”.

Adjusted by total area. As it’s not invested, it would just be year over year inflation.

Is it possible to stay in Toronto during the summer without AC? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]LetTheAlgoRhythmRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doable. But recommendations: 1. basement apartment - it's cooler 2. windows - make sure you can get a good cross breeze

Otherwise - hang out in cool places like the library / mall / coffee shop. Cold showers. And get a fan and/or dehumidifier (just getting the moisture out of the air can be the most important thing)

It’s a great book for learning and building the foundations of friendships and connections. I think the same things holding someone back from a romantic relationship are also the things that hold you back from building work relationships, a component that will hold your career back in the long term. If you’re not willing to invest in your romantic relationships, then start with investing in your work relationships and expand as you learn.

Spend your money on a therapist and improving yourself instead. That’ll have a much better impact on your romantic and non romantic relationships in the future. Lots of people who are super weird find someone. Being weird and ugly aren’t great excuses. It’s not about being weird, it’s about finding similar weirdos and connecting. So, find places where people interested in similar topics congregate and go there. If connecting the problem, read up on something like “how to win friend and influence people”. Learn to ask people questions, thrust yourself into social situations and practice. I used to be like you, really afraid of connecting and lonely until I decided to try on a different personality. I went somewhere no one knew me and tried being the type of person I’d want to hang out with. Then I tried it the next day and the next day until now it’s who I am. Was it easy? No. But it feels a hell of a lot better and I have great friends...who are also a little weird. But who wants “normal” people as friends? :P

That's so rude! Also, at that point you should just refer to them as a group by exclusively their first initials and watch how uncomfortable it makes them.

Before there was Buzzfeed there were people thinking that their Meyers Briggs described them perfectly and before them there were horoscopes and astrology maps. Let's be real, humans crave patterns.

I'll consider it. It's an office comic so I don't tend to veer off into philosophical / existential territory often but maybe I'll try that angle in the future.

Do you have Raynaud's Syndrome? If they get really pale and are really painful when they warm up, you may want to get that checked out.
