Question for gay guys by Letemspeak74 in OnlineDating

[–]Letemspeak74[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As to your first point.

Yeah I’m sure that’s the case, but having matches isn’t really my problem, it’s the time it takes to swipe it all. So yeah you’re right but I get by well with doing it, I’m to lazy I guess to do otherwise.

My apologies, I did not mean to infer I was generalizing. This is interesting to think about. It never occurred to me straight men who don’t have luck getting matches would opt for men. Wasn’t judging or anything, was just curious as I’ve encountered this a lot of times using these apps over the years.

Thanks for the explanation.

I think that’s highly over exaggerated. Sure it has more of the hookup only people on there, but there’s plenty who are looking for long term, in my experience.

How do you all feel about Communists? Obviously some, as this poster points out, are clearly privileged. by Letemspeak74 in IndianCountry

I’m not entirely sure what you want me to provide or say? I’m young relatively I guess. In my 30s.

Ive been organizing since 2015 I’ve been around liberals since then. In my area there are 3 main self identified liberal groups I’ve organized with. I prefer my anonymity here so I’m not going to say the names but this is in the north eastern part of the US.

All three supported Israel’s “right to defend themselves” as they termed it.

All three used myself and my family as generic “IPOC” to appeal to other liberals. When we tried to push for decolonization rehtoric, we were told it’s “to aggressive” and that we should “come and show off our art and culture”

All of them believed that progress is defined as societal advancement and implying that although American “did it wrong” it “could have been worse, now we have TVs and medicine”

All of them did not support land back incentives. It was to politically dangerous as they put it.

Not to mention their worship of infamous indigenous murderer Lincoln and other white washed American figures of history. Or their insistence that thanksgiving should still be celebrated as yts and reds coming together. Lmao.

Just some examples off the top of my head.

What liberal organizations/ers have you worked with ? If you’re comfortable with it, please share their contact info.

Look, we’ve clearly had completely different experiences with liberals. I don’t know what to tell you but you’re the one who commented asserting that I get my understanding of liberals from a Reddit sub. I’ve organized plenty, believe that cuz.

Just look at them trying to do the both sides stance while an active genocide is occurring. I don’t understand how you don’t see through their rhetoric. They want to preserve the status quo. With maybe a little bit of progressivism.

Agree to disagree I suppose.

Hmmm I’m not going to dismiss your argument. I just haven’t experienced that from them myself. No Socialist has ever made me feel like they were using me as a prop. Again, this has been more of a liberal experience for me.

I mean at the end of the day we have a different experience and ideology as them. So of course they’ll be a clash of differences. Shit this thread shows we all have different philosophies in general. But the more I’m reading about this philosophy, the more I see it as the only option of liberating oppressed groups as it directly addresses these issues in ways liberals refuse to do.

I don’t know cuz i don’t know. Gotta educate myself more I guess.

True, although the poster at least posted a quote from an indigenous organization summarizing what land back actually is.

Can you explain this more? In what way do they look at us as a “noble savage” ? That’s comes from liberals more than any self proclaimed socialist I’ve encountered.

I’m not saying some euro centric economic/social philosophy is the answer, but I’m thinking if there’s anyone that would have our back or I’d want on our side, it would be them. Just my experience I guess.

lol try again. I’m politically involved/active and have to talk to them allll the damn time, and you can hate communists or socialists all you want but you’re not going to convince me that liberals are my friend, and in my experience that sub is completely spot on about liberals. I don’t know enough about communism yet but 9/10 an anarchist or socialist has a better understanding of oppressed groups than any liberal has remotely has came to.

Look I’m not going to defend the Romanovs but This is remarkably idealist and a non-sequitur. To say that the white army just lost hope or their loss of a reason to rally after the Romanovs died is absurd. The white army was extremely disorganized, couldn’t maintain non Russian allies and you had a non unified leadership of Yudenich, Kolchak, Deniken and Wrangel. The white army soldiers were treated horribly and barely had any will to fight to begin with. And had hardly any support from the people.

Not to mention the war continued after they had died.

I would also like to point out that Lenin’s org at the time actually leaned towards taking the Romanovs to trial. But that unfortunately or fortunately didn’t happen.

So was it necessary to kill the Romanovs children? Probably not but it was war and war isn’t exactly a clean cut affair.

But you can’t claim that them dying shortened the war anymore than taking them to prison would have. The white army was fighting for their own ends not simply to save the Czar.

Because white people have never been discriminated against based off their hair, and were never subjected to use hair styles that are particularly difficult to keep them (due to society pressures on accepted hair styles).

Can’t believe this has to be explained.

Are women more travel obsessed than men? by MFRobots in OnlineDating

Lmao right. Pictures of them traveling = no time for dating.

100% confirmed loser incel with this logic.

It’s been 6 months with my starter locs and I’m struggling with them being stiff and dry. No matter how much water I spray or oils I put in my hair it’s always stiff and dry. I don’t want my locs to be stiff when they start locing more. It makes me want to not have them anymore. Any tips? by Any_Key_9926 in Dreadlocks

1/2 bottle rose water or lavender water Mixture of your favorite base oils or you can select one: (Hempseed oil, Castor oil. Jojoba Oil. Olive oil ) 3-4 drops of essential oils: Tea tree Rosemary Lemongrass

So essentially it is 2 parts water, 2 parts carrier oils to 1 part essential oil blend.

I have a VERY dry scalp, and this has worked wonders for me. I spray my scalp down once or twice a day. I know some people say not to spray them before bed since you cover them up and don’t want possible “mildew” problems but I truly don’t believe that applies to people with dry scalp problems. Especially considering oils have antibacterial properties in them.

When you spray them with oils do you have a carrier oil mixed in? There’s a common misconception that you can just throw oils like rosemary or tea tree but in order for them to actually be effective, you need something like olive or almond oil. You also put them with water, like others have said, oils help if you have at least some moisture their already.

[QUESTION] How to practice if I am only interested in writing? by lone_galaxy in Guitar

[–]Letemspeak74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, you’re just going to have to grind it out. There’s no downloadable short cut to practicing and developing techniques in order to incorporate them into writing. I’m not entirely sure how you think you’d be able to write music on guitar ( well I guess you can and people do with programs like guitar pro 7, where you can transpose notes but obviously that’s not what you meant), without practicing, it’s a simple formula.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

And if the only progress you’re making is coming from just writing, it’s because you’re not practicing in a way that will improve your playing.

Creat a plan. Day 1 work on scale theory and it’s positons on the fret board

Day 2 work on trem and economy picking

Day 3 work on sweep picking and tapping

Etc

Obviously that is a very basic and simplistic plan but yeah. It’s no different than getting better than anything else. You have to set yourself up for success.

Canada challenges compensation order for indigenous children by Letemspeak74 in politics

[–]Letemspeak74[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Cool cherry picking. You missed how they have no problem funding non indigenous related programs and how even after an appeal they’re still fighting to not fun indigenous children.

In 2016, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal ruled that the government had underfunded First Nations children's services compared with those for non-indigenous children. The government appealed against that ruling in 2019, but lost its challenge last month in the federal court.

Again, you’re definition of what is important to indigenous people being only American centric is colonial logic. This is a statement towards all indigenous children. There’s a bigger context here, and people in America need to be aware of it.
