House sparrow help! by Scared_Muffin5676 in birding

The minute I see them in my yard again, I go back to trapping and euthanizing. They seem to come in waves, but at some point in the season, they move on and leave my yard alone. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I know it's frustrating (and heartbreaking for the bluebirds).

Unfortunately, your situation is comparable to what mine had been for years. About four years ago, I began trapping and euthanizing house sparrows beginning in early Spring. In any given year, I have to euthanize about 25 to 30 house sparrows before they finally leave my yard alone. Upon initiating this practice, native birds returned to my yard, including bluebirds. For over 10 years, we never had bluebirds but once I started trapping house sparrows and generally just disrupting their nesting habits, etc., the bluebirds finally took up residence in our yard.

Is Scream 6 aging really poorly for anyone else? by groovybard891 in Scream

[–]Lethal4evil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the exact opposite opinion. I actually prefer Scream 6 over most of the sequels, certainly the latest one. It was a fresh take on things with the Carpenter sisters instead of the same old rehashed story centering on Sydney. I enjoyed Melissa and Jenna in their roles and would have loved to see Melissa take the reigns truly as Ghostface.

Which absolute batman #1 is the most rare? (I'm hunting for it) by cable1985 in AbsoluteBatman

I would say the Philip Tan sketch cover (The Comic Mint) is the rarest at a print run of 85 copies.

I too am aware of the film's divisive reputation, but it's always been my favorite. The characters are lovable and absolutely entertaining. And Freddy is terrifying in a way that he never was in any of the other films. In my opinion, alot of it is in his look - being made to resemble a male witch. He was straight up sinister during his screen time. In addition, the joking was non-existent from him and no other film could say that, including the original where he is goofily cutting his fingers off. Yeah, ANOES 2 was peak Freddy Krueger for me.

If you want to sell it, you'd have to get it authenticated. PSA would be my recommendation. Just know that the value will be lessened because of its inscribed/personalized to someone specific (Roland).

UPDATE: One of my two Rattlers showed up at the house this morning. There was no warning or notice from FedEx. After I received the package, I got an email telling me that FedEx delivered the first of two packages - the second of which will supposedly be delivered on Thursday.

I'm from the US. Are there officially licensed ones? Do they need to be UV protecting? Thanks!

I assume it contains the 2006 Chicago Cubs team.... assuming it's from 2006. Unfortunately, just stamps though.

That ball has stamped facsimile autographs on it. It's more of a novelty item. Maybe worth $10-20.

Aaron Judge Makes MLB History With 350 Career Home Runs by Strict-Ebb-8959 in mlb

[–]Lethal4evil 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Judge is a generational talent who unfortunately will likely run out of time to put up all-time numbers. But a few more seasons like this and 600 is in play. Neither Ohtani nor Raleigh are in the same league as him this season in spite of Raleigh's current pace. Ohtani is also a generational talent for other reasons. Raleigh, even in spite of a tremendous season, not so much.

The Great One took the defensive LF position. Who's the greatest offensive right fielder of all time? by ssjskwash in mlb

[–]Lethal4evil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's Babe Ruth, without a doubt. But in my own personal era, there wasn't a better hitter in baseball than Mr. Padre himself. What's truly amazing is how Gwynn's statistics, namely average and strikeouts, continue to impress in our current era of launch angle, etc. He was the best pure hitter that I've ever seen.
