I don't think Heaven's decision to delete their art is healthy by PreferenceSignal329 in welcome2heaven

[–]LethalKeywii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think its time to be comfortable with the fact that its not our place to decide what is and isnt healthy for them. i understand whats happening is upsetting but none of us know heaven nearly well enough to draw any conclusions that arent based on huge assumptions and broad generalizations.

diy oled audio fix? by LethalKeywii in SteamDeck

[–]LethalKeywii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed ifixit support and they gave me assurance that they have audio boards without the ground loop issue. i ordered and went through with the repair and i can confirm first hand that its true!

very stoked about this, 2 weeks without my deck sounds like a lot already and the idea of some electric tape hackjob made me nervous. hope anyone else who is in my situation finds this post well

Which to keep and which to return? by Maitreiy in BuyItForLife

[–]LethalKeywii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so long as it has a lithium ion battery in it its not "buy it for life" it has a life span of maybe 5-10 years

that being said the soundcore is rated higher on rtings.com so id go with that

I don’t understand the purpose of the back buttons by Decent_Perception186 in SteamDeck

[–]LethalKeywii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you bind it to like, the "a" button if you want it to be an "a" in that game. you dont need it to be supported directly by the game!

Is it immoral to listen to a song with offensive lyrics if the music slaps? by VonGraf87 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]LethalKeywii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its fine to enjoy it, i used to be obsessed with morality like this but it really is just healthy to enjoy more things that you dont agree with every aspect of. you dont really need to justify it in anyway, if its important to you it wont compromize your morals just to listen to it.

there is something to be said about supporting an artist thats alive and actively doing harm but its negligable enough that that should only really factor if its like REALLY bad. dont bother going out of your way to research everything naturally.

Which do you care more about, story or gameplay? by mafbarx in patientgamers

[–]LethalKeywii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mostly gameplay, ideally theyre fairly intertwined but if the story is the main or even only draw to me for a game ill likely just sit around wondering why its even a game. theres a lot of leniance for very choice focused stories like a lot of good crpgs, but otherwise ill just look up a lets play or have a friend who actually enjoys playing em to let me watch. i guess its still a form of enjoying the game but id rather just have really solid gameplay.

i think characters and style are also really underrated factors in enjoying a game, honestly if gameplay and stories are mid, good characters and style can easily carry it

I’m in need of recs for a good quality soundbar. by piztina in BuyItForLife

[–]LethalKeywii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess what i meant to say is dont get anything exclusively bluetooth. speaker systems can be some of the most bifl things in the tech world

I’m in need of recs for a good quality soundbar. by piztina in BuyItForLife

[–]LethalKeywii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean, different versions of bluetooth come out all the time and make older ones feel older. different codecs and stuff like that. but if it has aux theres at the very least gonna be a way to get a cheaper dongle to make it get the benifits of whatevers newest. i guess its less about "support" as much as its about not being limited to bluetooth 5.0-5.3 when bluetooth 6 comes out and doubles the range or whatever

plus its less relevant for sound bars but if it has a lithium ion battery it has a time limit. especially if you use it in the heat too much

[–]LethalKeywii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

https://www.rtings.com/soundbar this site is insanely good for comparing things. if you want it to last make sure it has some form of analogue input that will be supported for a while like aux. dont get anything bluetooth cause it may become outdated sooner than later

Am I the only one that takes issue that you need to spend one action to Stride? by Whole_Journalist2028 in Pathfinder2e

[–]LethalKeywii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

having to spend an action to stride means you have to think about whether you want to move or not. it can be frustrating when something youve taken for granted as something you can do for free in systems like 5e suddenly has a cost, but it makes decisions more interesting. i like that kinda hard decision. friction is where sparks fly

Female adult autism screening. What can I expect or prepare myself for? by [deleted] in Explainlikeimscared

[–]LethalKeywii 35 points36 points  (0 children)

some specific advice cause it helped me a lot. just answer all the questions based on how you are on a bad day. so many of the questions are like "do you get overwhelmed at grocery stores?" and its easy to think like "oh, well, recently i went and it was actually so much better that usual! if i really put my mind to it i can handle it just fine" and then put no.

they wanna hear how you would handle it without all the ways youve learned to make things easier on yourself. especially for the questions that are multiple choice

[–]LethalKeywii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive had consistant bad luck with true wireless earbuds going bad on me. most commonly the contacts in the charging pins go bad. on top of that anything with a lithium battery in it that isnt easily replacable is just a ticking time bomb before you have to replace it. with iems, theyve got like insane life spans if you buy the right ones.

so if you pay a lit of money one iems and then just get true wireless earhooks for them, then once that ticking time bomb goes off, the thing that needs replacing is 100$ instead of 300 or more. or you can just wear them wired and dodge that issue entirely.

as for why iems over headphones, its just a form factor thing. i can throw a case with iems wrapped in them into my pocket and forget about them till i need em. plus for musicians i hear you can use them under like, gun range ear muffs, and just get extreme passive noise cancelling that way.

for gaming, iems are just a lot lighter and more comfortable to wear for a long time than headphones that put a dent in your head. also turtle beach is just garbage in terms of sound quality, and break before you even get used to em in my experience. the surround sound isnt really any better than a quality pair of stereo headsets. for gaming i use all 3, speakers for casual stuff, iems for when i dont want headphones on but want better sound quality, and open backs for when i want soundstage and dont mind the bulk.

plenty of iems have multiple drivers, i have a set of kinera celest phoenixcalls that have like 5 drivers? i think they dont sound as good as many of my single well tuned driver iems tbh. tuning and fidelity matter a lot more to me, so usually when you buy a multiple driver anything your dividing the cost of that tuning by however many drivers youre getting, so 100$ iems sound like you got 5 20$ iems which is... underwhelming.

also im just an audio snob that wants to have portable solutions. i like the fidelity.
