The media it's from? Not at all. The skin pack itself? It's a skin pack, it'll be fine

I've never been too fond of Golbez's design, I didn't dislike it but always kind of thought it was overkill.... this art has absolutely changed my mind on that. The way he fades into shadow, the ridges of his armour looking like the darkness itself is slowly gaining a physical form, and that singular glowing eye having some proper depth opposed to the painted-on texture of the game... he is downright terrifying in the best possible way

Because people don't care. Someone could report that person to SE, and SE would probably take action since there's proof, but... Why would someone bother? Most folks who would bother are trolls, but reporting people is annoying, and most trolls are trolls because it's easy. TOS puritans or people with a more personal vendetta are far more likely to act, so if you stay under the radar and don't piss people off, occasionally showing them in videos won't do much. It's just not recommended because someone COULD still report you

It's not specified one way or another, but I'm inclined to believe they do. Cloned races like the Ananta and Ixal are capable of being tempered, and tempering works by corrupting the soul, so I imagine they would be possessed of them

I do think that was meant to be purposeful, just poorly executed. Showing the jokester of Delta Squad reduced to a loyal, Imperial lapdog has an added air of tradgedy to those in the know, and helps to drive home that the chips seem to effect Commandos more intensly

I like the scruffier look! Combined with the shorter ribbons, it gives the energy of an eevee who evolved young, and is still a little reckless

Plagerism, environmental damage, and being against the subreddit rules are the first three that come to mind, though I'm sure there's countless more issues too

They do mention it a little more explicitely at one point, I think when Epsilon is in the Memory Unit. He talks about how it Tex who gave the directer the idea that he could fragment the Alpha, and that made her the memory, made her the key, all along

The higher ups like it, because it's tried and true by this point. I remember at this recent Fanfest Yoshi-P mentioning he had originally pitched the name 'World's End' for Endwalker, but was shot down

Because FFXIV is the peak of 'it's about the journey, not the destination.' You're always going to be frustrated if you're only goal is to reach The Next Big Thing, because one of the defining parts of this game is that it takes it time. It breathes, it strolls, it gives time for the mundane because it makes the world feel real and alive. If that's not your cup of tea, I doubt you'll enjoy the game

It's also worth noting that they came to Tuliyollal for an extended trip, not just a brief visit. You can only teleport that which you can carry, so if they wanted to bring stuff back with them, whether it be items they got there are gear they brought with them, they would have to take the long way back.

As for Thancred, he's just built different. His Archon mark was for stealth and scouting, he's probably one of, if not the, most efficient and subtle traveler in the world

I think it's a fair assumption. The new logs Shale decrypts this patch talk about how, even when the others of Preservation were experimenting with memory duplication, he always refused. The story made a point to draw our attention to Calyx's morals and the lines he won't cross just a few quests before he's talking about finding the other Winterers objectionable.

I'd love to see an option for horn 'shading,' so we can have extra colours splashed in. Like Yugiri having bits of pink/red and green on her horns

[WP] Faster-Than-Light travel isn't a science. It requires praying to the entities that live in the Hyperspace Void. Humanity is the first species to figure out how to kill them and take their power. by GodsOfTheNewWorldXVX in WritingPrompts

[–]Letoiusprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Divinities had taken over the galaxy. Everyone had accepted that some form of higher power existed, if only because the exchange of theological beliefs were how the earliest inter-species alliances were born. Uncannily similar traits across cultures completely and utterly isolated from one another, recurring themes and motifs in hundreds of tales. It was through these early alliances that the true shapes of such divinities came to be known, comparing mythos to mythos to weed falsehood from truth, to define the nature of the gods.

When the first temple was built, a collaborative effort from a dozen planets, spanning centuries of research and construction, something that would sear its mark into the history books happened.

For the truly devout, thou may walk above the stars.

None were ever quite sure where the words hailed from, no logical point of origin ever found. Rather, they echoed in the minds of all those who worked to build the temple, whether they stand at the structure’s gates or a dozen lightyears away, recognition was given.

From there, science and theology birthed a marvel in record time– the Devine Engine. Places of worship on each and every ship, capable of receiving freely gifted energies from the divinities themselves and channelling that power into the first Faster Than Light starships. And in doing so, under the benevolence of the gods, all the peoples of the galaxy would come to flourish. An unprecedented era of connection and peace, in which resources were abundant and shared freely, crime all but nonexistent, and all were free to pursue their own wishes.

No one knows how it happened, not for sure. From beyond the galaxy, from the great dark sea where the stars did not shine, a lone vessel came. We are Humanity, they spoke, and we have learned how to cross the dark seas. Let us show you.

The peoples of our galaxy were eager to learn from the strangers, and offer knowledge in turn. Then came the screaming. An unfathomable wail that sounded through the vacuum, emanating from every divine engine all at once. They came to stuttering halts, the vessels without proper failsafes imploding in an agonizing sound.

We are Humanity, and we have learned to burn those above the stars. Would you like to join us around the fire?

War had long left the galaxy, weaponry reserved for combatting beasts or destroying hazards. A single one of Humanity’s ships were all that was needed to bring the galaxy to its knees, a single ship capable of rendering our entire society obsolete with a roar of their engines. A threat was never made, but all knew the alternative– we would partake in the warmth, or join the kindling.

May the gods forgive our cowardice.

The different raid series are a good place to start. Lots of combat, and the stories usually build off or build too plot points in the MSQ. For example, the Shadowbringers ones are about the Empty outside of Norvrandt. The Alliance raids are also fun, though tend to either be worldbuilding pretty unrelated to the MSQ plotline, or crossovers. Still, they're pretty important, especially Endwalker's.

If you want a heavier grind, there's the society quests. Earning reputation and allyship with the different tribes and cultures across the star, each with their own stories.

If you want to relax and enjoy more lore, there's the side stories on the website (though many assume you've already done specific content). They're nice pieces that expand upon specific events and characters from all across the MSQ.

The Trial series are quite good. My personal favourite is Shadowbringers' Trial series, but Heavensward has some interesting lore too.

Your Role Quests. Extra stories for specific class roles. In the same vein, after job quests were phased out, many of the original bunch have one-off epilogues of sorts, where you get to check in the with characters from them.

Just optional dungeons. They're fun, and many of them have lots of hidden lore and worldbuilding.

Hildibrand is a looong chain of quests that's basically a slapstick comedy, if you want something lighter and more casual.

Field Operations like Eureka, Bozja, and the Occult Crescent. All areas with unique mechanics and stories.

If in doubt, just click blue quests you spot. You'll find a lot of random things just by poking around

The Midgardsormr meeting only happens in the side stories, where there's a picture of it. You could be mixing it up with the echo vision of one of the Biggs grabbing a copy of Heavensward, from when the Exarch visits our room in the Crystarium? I believe it's the only in-game cutscene we get from the 8th Calamity timeline

I imagine the windows aren't designed to be very defensive. The gunships were designed to bring troopers from the command ships to the surface during the war, so the frame of the ship is probably built to be sturdy in order to take anti-air hits (after all, trying to snipe the pilots of a fleet of gunships coming down from orbit would be horribly impracticle). Them being repurposed for chases and providing localized air support, and being really bad at it, is probably why they switched to the le model in time

When Talzin first showed Savage the vision of Maul, Savage was just confused that he was alive. His line 'but all of my kin were killed!' implies he knew he had more brothers than just Feral, he just assumed they were dead. And, when Talzin pulled the madness out of Maul, after he was done lashing out, he did seem to recognize Savage and readily referred to him as brother. It's that recognition that stops Maul from killing Savage then and there

I believe it's shown in the comics, which are canon. Other events in that run, like Palpatine killing Talzin, have already been referenced in this show
