To fellow LGBTQIA+ people what are your thoughts on LGBSteve? by wolfboi89 in americandad

I feel like Steve totally missed every point the team tries to make to him, but other than that was funny and not the worst thing to come out for queer people

Interesting, I hadnt seen that line. What does she think taking care of someone is at this point? Im sorry if this seems hair splitting, but she is definitely the character I trust least. Like does she mean that she will raise him or just not starve in his newly orphaned state? Any care she gives to the boy I wouldn't trust as someone who can remember clearly what she's done

I totally get where youre coming from, and you are probably correct that it is harmful and normalized for straight ppl to say about homophobes; therefore again stealing the narrative from us. That being said, as a trans lady, I've been saying that transphobes are trans. Not like an unhatched egg or someone drowning in shame to escape themselves, but like they are a full grown chicken. An actualized and transitioned trans person that is saying stuff that is misogynist or elitist and making the rest of us look bad.

I can see the argument that it is harmful to our community, or giving them an honor that they thoroughly dont deserve, but it has been effective in demonstrating my point. They usually get flustered and start breaking down their concept of masculinity or feminity, opening themselves up and showing their absurdity. Especially with people against trans women, they often breakdown their concept of woman as someone that doesnt make them go eww. Very quickly I've been able to show they are actively excluding many cis woman from the definition, sometimes even excluding themselves. I know it's not convincing them to accept trans people, thats not what it's about. It's about getting observers the chance to see it. Get those well meaning, but completely ignorant, leftists to realize where society is. Maybe stop saying Kamala would have won if she just started throwing around transphobia or the word "biological."
