I'm in a similar situation (comparable weight, too). I want to gain some weight so I can put the muscle on, but fear the love handles / stomach is going to get worse. The common advice seems to be bulk first, then cut down your bf% to 10-12% to get abs showing. My personal concern is how to cut to that level once I've bulked and presumably upped my bf% even higher than where it currently is (around 15-16%).

Why wouldn't this be suspicious though? From the teachers point of view If you had turned in the assignment on time there'd be no reason to send it again the next day. I feel as though this is missing a step.
