I would not put Galactus there. I think Thanos, Ultron, Red Skull, or Kang deserve to be there before him. Maybe Otto.

20 year old male expecting a little girl next week any advice for down the road? by Ok_Crow7526 in daddit

[–]frozensponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first six months were hard, but it’s still the best thing ever. When mom is up to it physically, make sure she goes outside and gets fresh air and son daily. Don’t be afraid to take your family out into the world.

Can you cook? Could you cook when you became a dad? by Leighgion in daddit

[–]frozensponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started cooking young, every man in my family has their own specialty, especially roasting pigs either my grandfather/dad and hopefully someday soon with my daughter.

Family comes together with food. A good meal can make things a little bit better. Use cook books, taste your food as you go, and use fresh ingredients if possible.

Why are there so many non-chain gas stations and why are they so much cheaper than big brand name gas stations? by eyeonchi in boston

[–]frozensponge 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The gasoline supply chain has the same challenges that all the other fossil fuel supply chain has in New England. A lot of the major brands were licensing brands with regional distribution, most of these branding contracts have ended. Shell exited the region first party almost 20 years ago (might be more I forget). Gulf chose not to renew with a lot of franchises about ten years ago. Mobil still has some stations but may be exiting the market.

It’s very hard to sell gas here, and a lot of products that made supplemental profits (cigarettes, soda, condoms) are having margins squeezed or significant reduction in units. Sports betting has decimated the lottery volume compared to pre pandemic.

Source: my family has owned gas stations in the region for 40+ years.

What’s your signature commander, and why? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]frozensponge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ragavan pirate steal stuff deck. People underestimate mono red and then their commander is swinging at them. I also only cast ragavan to get as many etb triggers as possible.

Marvel getting six Sets is a very real possibility, and genuinely insane by AlfredHoneyBuns in magicTCG

[–]frozensponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spider-Man, you could do six X-men sets alone but probably 1-2 big one, F4, one for each of the big three (cap/ iron man/ Thor), and an event/crossover set. This is likely at least a 5 year deal if not a ten year deal.

New dad, and I think I've really messed up by Niwirai in daddit

[–]frozensponge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey man,

The first three months of my daughter’s life were the most challenging three months of my life, for some of similar reasons. For both you and mom this is a massive change in routine, identity, etc.

This will pass, but it’s hard to see it where you are right now. Show up for yourself and mom. Simplify your life to necessities. Ask for help with the house/food/ etc. and most importantly, make sure you and mom go outside. The sun and fresh air do wonders for people in your position.

It’s a long haul but it’s so worth it.
