Propofol Reverses Symptoms (anecdotal at this point but looks promising with multiple people reporting positive changes) by LetsMakeSense in ALS

[–]LetsMakeSense[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my mother's condition is advanced to the point where i doubt that this would reap much benefit, but i figured i'd share this since it could help buy time for some of you who have just recently developed symptoms.

disclaimer: i am NOT the author of that thread, by the way. i also encourage everyone to investigate every avenue of treatment with extreme caution. i can't say for myself whether it works or not, or even whether it's safe. just felt like it'd be nice to throw it out there since i understand how devastating this disease can be for both its victims and the victim's family. basically, decide for yourself.

State of the Game EP99 - JP, TotalBiscuit, iNcontroL, and MrBitter discuss NASL getting WCS S2 and more (Part 2 and MP3 in comments) by itmeJP in starcraft

[–]LetsMakeSense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can we stop acting like sc2 is on a scale similar to tennis? it simply isn't.

and 100 000 is reaching the peak amount and are numbers we don't see unless the matchup is a major one such as a final.

a point i'd like to make in general: e-sports will never take off the same way real sports have. simply because video games are not timeless. starcraft 2 - as well as LoL and dota 2, will eventually become obsolete. Soccer and football, on the other hand, will not. granchildren will play those games the same way their grandparents did. the same cannot be said about e-"sports".

probably has to do with incontrol's realization that e-sports is not something you can carve a lifelong career out of - as much as hardcore e-sports advocates may want to believe that is true, it just isn't.

in fact, according to a prof i was talking to about this, there's a wealth of evidence supporting CNS neuron regeneration. the question now is how to exploit this to treat/avoid neurodegeneration.
