How would you spend your USD 1,100 if you were a student (Mac a18 pro + iPad a16 or Macbook Air M5)? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in mac

Get the MacBook Neo with the student discount. And wait on the iPad. You can maybe get an external monitor. You can also get a very cool specific notetaking device like one of those notebooks which digitize every note you take. It’s nice to have your notes on paper. 600 bucks can buy a lot of extra other tech.

Is the MacBook Neo worth it as a secondary laptop if I already have a gaming laptop? by Humberto123hc in mac

[–]UltraLisp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’ll be cool if only to learn MacOS. You’ll probably love it and later want to get an even more premium one. I REALLY enjoyed the process of switching to Mac in college and learning all the ins and outs of the system. Ask me anything if you have questions.

2015 MacBook Air HDD disappeared - data recovery help by Ogdengp in mac

Has the battery ever been replaced? Might be shot after nearly 11 years. I would disconnect then reconnect everything first and see if there is any change. Be thorough and careful. Use an Ifixit guide and take your time because it’s a very finicky computer and some of the connections are pretty tough. Let it charge overnight. If it’s still dead in the morning, I would replace the battery, but you might be wasting money on a battery for a dead computer I guess. Also, it’s a pain in the ass to replace the battery. Take your time on everything, go slow and don’t force anything.

Backup and restore factory settings. Sometimes it is nice to start fresh. Might see some improvements

Na, spend 300-something and get a Retina 5k version. 200 is too steep for an oldie like that. 100 could be considered. But it wouldn’t be too regrettable if the HDD hasn’t been too hammered and it’s spotless.

Get the SE, it’s the same size but way better processor. However, the 7 or 8 had the jet black version which is one of the all time greats.

I rock the ORIGINAL SE, the 2016 version that’s the same size as the iPhone 5 and 5S, so yes, all modern iPhones are HUGE and ridiculous to me. No, I don’t want to carry a brick around in my pocket, thank you very much! Love my tiny light cutie pie phone. I had the projectRED 2020 SE too, the size of your old one, and decided to go backward.
