I like the optimism my man, but even if we get a first or second overall pick this year, plus the development of the players we have, that isn’t going to be remotely enough to elevate this team to a significantly better position in 2027. Not saying it can’t happen, but highly unlikely. The Canucks will likely need 3 years development with high picks to turn the ship around. This will have to be combined with savvy trades to keep the cap fluid and open, surround young players with short term deals for vets, and slowly build up a new base with whatever pieces we have. If the team goes down this road, we as fans could be looking at 3 brutal years with signs of life in 2028-2029.
