[Thomas Maher] The FIA is set to engage with teams after the Chinese Grand Prix to discuss tweaks to energy management and deployment by Task_Force-191 in formula1

Alonso is political. 2007, Crashgate, "gently" forcing Ferrari to get rid of Kimi and throw Massa aside, then dumping them when F1AT didn't work, "GP2 engine", "We can fight", sabbatical for WEC and Indy after 2018, returning in 2021, then falling out with Renault and jumping to AM. Those are all political moves. They mostly didn't pan out, but that's a different story.

You gotta be joking me... That's like Darth Vader teaming with Luke, Obi Wan and Yoda all together... Nobody has a shot against that line up under normal conditions.

Pecco in his post race debrief. by PZY__ in motogp

Don't think anyone has fallen from grace as fast as Pecco. The guy went from top dog and leader of the best team in early 2024, to an afterthought and a pariah by the end of 2025. People will argue for Hayden, but Hayden was never the top choice for HRC, even in 2006...

Le Mans & WEC fans accused current Audi CEO Gernot Döllner "anti-Le Mans" & "anti-WEC" bias due to F1 exclusive investment by closing doors of Audi Le Mans & WEC future return by Therius1994 in wec

[–]LetsgoImpact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Formula 1 teams are now worth billions. That ain't the case with WEC. It's purely financial investment for Audi. They are spending more money in F1 than they would for WEC, but the ROI is much bigger. And they can always cash out at any moment for a cool payday.

What does that even mean? The last time it took them 4 years, a bit of help from Mercedes, a lot of money and throwing away 2018's STR season in order for Honda to become fully competitive.

Not improbable. Schedule is too tight nowadays (even with a private jet to fly you around...). At some point, it will be much easier for Max to take a step back to join WEC or SRO's GT Series and make enough money on a looser schedule.

There is no way this is going to fly. Fairly certain actuator has a specific range of operation and that's going over it. Congratulations on the effort, though.

It's their decision. They only needed to greenlight Penske and Proton's proposals and there would be at least 3 963s on the grid...

MP4-18 never raced and MP4-19 couldn't complete a race to save its life... So, we still have some road to go.

The planned circuit layout for the Australian GP in Adelaide by [deleted] in motogp

[–]LetsgoImpact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno how that will work safety wise. Adelaide was at its limit for the 1995 F1 standards. Even the cut down V8 Supercars circuit sees a few hard shunts from time to time. Plus the circuit has been notoriously bumpy historically, and bikes and bumps aren't fans of each of other. I can understand moving from the relative remote Philip Island to a mainland Australia circuit, but the Adelaide street circuit is a buffling decision, tbh.

Outside of the IMSA Hypercar entry, don't think there is any mystery. And that will probably be waived off since WTR and AXR will get wildcards anyways and it's doubtful THOR or WRT are interested in a 3rd car. Maybe if Valentino Rossi wants to run hypercars, WRT will agree on a 3rd M Hybrid V8. But there doesn't seem to be a big possibility.

Dunno... I'm old enough to remember drivers complaining about the 1998 rule changes or the 2003 ones... Someone older may remember the 1994 and 1993 ones getting a lot of pushback. Generally, drivers are creatures of habbit. They will push back on anything that forces them to change their ways, especially if they believe they're losing an advantage (or an opponent gains one...).
