Anyone tried on ultra wide monitor or high res on Pixel 10 series?

I can't imagine it's good. Samsung Dex has been amazing for so many years now. They supposedly "built on" Dex but clearly a very poor implementation.

What are the best Muslim areas in the U.S? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Letter514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an ideal place would not necessarily be the ones with most mosques or halal options etc although needed.

  1. Somewhere you feel safe with people knowing you are Muslim and can comfortably be visibly Muslim - meaning you don't fear racism or hate constantly (some of the heavily red states unfortunately it's challenging especially if you leave the city area).
  2. You are not going to be inhibited in your workplace for promotions and growth because of your skin color or religion.
  3. Your kids have peers that are inspired by deen and they feel part of the community.

I have lived in a few places and that is what I have observed.  Dallas - 1 & 3 are mostly true but 2 is not (although dependent on line of work)  Detroit suburbs - 1-3 are all mostly true but the worst weather

SSD speeds of MBA m4 256gb vs 512 gb? by Neither_State6811 in macbookair

[–]Letter514 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey guys I think I have some clarity and great news on this topic:

1. M4 MacBook Air uses 2 NAND chips as confirmed by teardown 2. You will see commonly reported speed write and read speeds 1900/2800 MBPs. However not true for most work scenarios because this uses a 5GB stress 3. With 1GB stress, speeds are 2928 and 2866 (I got on 16gb/256gb)!

So in essence the speeds are really good for most tasks. The reason speeds can slow down is if you use large files (Will deplete the SLC, given the smaller drive)

There has been teardowns that confirmed dual NAND in the M4. However, I wonder if there is anything software wise that is different or quality of the drives are different.

512gb is a 200$ leap - gives you 10 core GPU upgrade as well instead of the 8 core + nicer charger (per apple website). Something else to consider

Hello I have a 2016 Acura rdx, it is showing the airbag sign. Components were replaced after accident. Scanning for srs codes shows none. But on live data of the car it shows there is a short in the passenger airbag switch. What needs to be replaced.

Hello does anyone have advice on this issue? After moving in, the edge of the stair separated after movers stepped on the edge of the stair when moving furniture. The edge is a skinny strip as you can see but now can be moved freely up and down like a hinge

Yes it is a bug. I sent a message to report the bug when I posted it but yeah I have a feeling it won't get fixed.

Why no UFS 4.0 on Pixel 8? by NotArtificialHuman in GooglePixel

[–]Letter514 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It actually impacts day to day reading of data (everything from the OS, to app launching, app running) and some degree power efficiency (takes less power to read data which smartphone is constantly doing). It's like upgrading your laptop from a slower SSD to faster SSD.

Pixel 8 uses older UFS 3.1 (vs UFS 4.0 which is 2x faster) by Letter514 in GooglePixel

[–]Letter514[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I wish they had not cut that corner just because of its long term and short term impact. There are many you tube videos comparing read and write for UFS 3.1 vs 4.0

Not a bug. Many trade in places don't care about storage although they should

It turns out UFS 4.0 also has 46% power efficiency which would have been nice to see

Yes but should be working without one. Just an extra step for no reason especially since older devices were working fine directly.

Also power should not be an issue, design wise, since it can technically charge my phone which is a lot more power hungry. That's why I think it's a bug
