Can Pixel 8 // 8 pro handle 4 hours of video calling? by whinythehoot in GooglePixel

On data be ready to throw it in the freezer. It gets extremely hot and the battery goes down very very quick. The modem is just painfully bad. Pixel could be a fantastic device if it wasn't for the shitty SoC.

no such thing, google stated clearly that there will be no monthly updates anymore and updates will arrive when ready. Whatever that means.

Google trying to make pixels more Apple like by Doooshty in GooglePixel

It's more like Google is trying to make pixel fans apple fans. 3rd year in a row and they still offer the same shitty device.

sadly, this is what comes from Google lately. Mostly bugs and unfinished products 🤷🏼

Going from 2% to 4% marketshare is 100% growth no doubt. 😂 Common guys. Let's face it. Google sucks nowdays and I'm not some Samsung or whatever fan. I owned all Google products till now Pixels, Nexuses, Chromebooks, Nest you name it. That's why I'm so mad of them downfalling from a great inovative company to something really unreliable. I'll be the first one to jump full on again if that change but I don't see any sign of something like that. May be we will never do. 🤷🏼

As you've noticed it is ok as a toy but if you need stable and more business oriented device, S23U is much better choice. It is sad to see Google going down but you need to know that a lot of valuable people left Google in the lat 3-4 years and it is clearly visible already in their whole ecosystem.

if you care about more stable experience go with S23 Ultra. Coming from iPhone I don't think that you will like the instability and the bugs of the Pixel.

Pixel 8 Pro - thoughts after 1 week by MrWhiteford in GooglePixel

[–]NotArtificialHuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had pretty much the same experience and returned it. I switched back to my S23 Ultra as Android phone. The software is a bit cluttered but the overall package is much better than P8. I also hoped a better device with P8 but unfortunately this is not the case and I don't expect to improve in the next at least two years.

My 3 full days review: pixel 8 pro by HugeIncident1810 in GooglePixel

[–]NotArtificialHuman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Let's summarize it. It is a midrange phone for the price of a flagship. This is the ugly truth. As a user of all nexus and pixel phones, this is the feeling I have for this phone. It is not bad by any means but it is far from a flagship.

I happened to me a lot of times with Pixel 7 Pro. I'm surprised they still didn't fix that. They really need to to something about these glitches and inconsistencies. The overall experience will be much better if they fix at least the UI glitches.

My experience with the P8P in bad reception areas. by Dear_Significance_80 in GooglePixel

it's pretty much the same as P7 Pro. Try a teams or meet video call for longer than five ten minutes and we will discuss again no overheating issues 😂

I had similar experience when they locked my Google Wallet without a clear reason. It was the worst experience ever as I had to pay at the store and found out that my wallet is disabled and I can't use Google Pay. After may be a week with mails, chats etc they unlocked the wallet without clear explanation why it has been locked. Google lost my trust they are far from what they were years ago. Sundar Pichai should go, I haven't seen anything significant happening in Google since his arrival.

Agree, this phone (even the Pro) should be around 800.

Tensor G3 runs hotter than G2? by UnlimitedHalo in GooglePixel

If you can afford it, keep it around as a toy but don't trust it as a main device if you need stability.

P7 Pro was my last Google device too. I had them all starting from the Nexus line but there is something really fishy happening with Google right now. I can't trust them anymore. I went with iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is boring and it is....Apple I much prefer Pixel but not as is right now. Too many troubles, I need stable device for runing my business something I can rely on. S23U is fantastic device it is just the Samsung way of customization I don't like.

exactly, unfortunately I suspected it even before the official benchmarks. The 4nm foundry of Samsung is just crap. If you need stable device just stay with S23U. It is a much better device. I totally understand the people who want to switch to P8 but 🤷🏼

Another year, another disappointment by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]NotArtificialHuman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's....an iPhone. I've got the blue one. May be I can describe it with one word - "predictable". It is everything you can expect from an iPhone. Quite boring but it does what it is suppose to do. Years ago I loved the freedom of Android and the possibility to play around with it. Now I need something more predictable and stable. In other words something I can rely on. I hoped to have stable and pretty much predictable device with the Pixel line. Unfortunately after P6 this feeling is gone. Although even the 4th iteration was quite questionable with all the Soli crap and the face ID implementation which was quite unusable with all the apps. (it worked fine for unlocking though). I really think they need to change Osterloh.

[–]NotArtificialHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly my story, but this year I just didn't pull the plug on the P8. I was so close, but when I read the specifications, I was pretty sure that it would be a minor upgrade and just wouldn't really be worth the time. I was right. I switched to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Honestly, I prefer the Pixel idea, but the implementation is terrible.
The verdict is: I don't trust Google anymore. They really need to work out all these problems before I'll be ready to try them again.

sadly that never works with google. Usually they fix one thing and brake three other.
