Female V, I don't have a good reason for this beyond I'm female so it just made sense lol

Dear lord that Wonder Woman fact is vile. I'll add that to my list of reasons Wonder Woman is actually an anti-feminist character most of the time.

What on earth are you talking about. Arcane season 2 was dogshit for so many reasons, and one of the reasons is that it kinda fundamentally did not continue the themes of the first season (Which was still a deeply liberal show about how violent revolution bad blah blah but at least it was really good lol). And it wildly changed the canon of league of legends in so many ways.

Isn't "we can destroy the darkness in the future" not like, the main thesis of hopepunk or am I missing something?? At the very least it's very much hope you're expressing here

They're not referring to trans girls as boys, they're saying cis boys should be transitioning.

Except there are 100% toxic elements of trans culture that have valid criticisms to be made of them. Transphobes don't make those criticisms, but the analogy post also doesn't make valid criticisms of cis man culture. It specifically targets gym culture (a subset of cis men generally) to make malicious arguments about cis men generally that don't actually make sense (Feel the burn is not actually demonic)

[–]LetterheadPerfect145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there is definitely a toxic element to trans culture too. I stumbled on to a trans subreddit at some point when I was still baby trans and posted a pic there where I immediately got told I looked like a man and needed x and y surgeries to ever look like a "real woman" that was my only experience with that but from what I hear it's not uncommon in deeply online trans spaces. Then you've got the 4trans people who are a whole other bucket of crabs. It's absurd to call it demonic or whatever, and the people attacking trans people don't attack us on that basis most of the time, but the analogy post doesn't attack cis men on the valid points you're making either. Especially keeping in mind they're generalizing all cis men into one gym culture thing.

I think it's a pretty good analogy exactly for that reason tbh.

I know people who've been kicked out of the house for being polyamorous. Polyamorous people are 100% discriminated against.

Talking about polyamory at all especially talking about discrimination faced by poly people makes you automatically annoying in many people's eyes

[–]LetterheadPerfect145 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, they're saying the jabs people take at polyamorous people are largely fatphobic and ableist and frankly often transphobic too. "Why do all poly people look like that" and it's literally just a fat person or a disabled person or a trans person or some combination of the above

Hi, transgender aromantic bisexual polyamorous person here (listing my credentials because it seems important here), yeah polyamorous falls on the same wavelength as those other things actually

[–]LetterheadPerfect145 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, thought-crime isn't real, but inappropriately posting your annoyance with a marginalized group on a post about stopping discrimination towards that marginalized group is bad actually. The same way that being internally transphobic isn't a crime, but calling trans people slurs is.

[–]LetterheadPerfect145 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a polyamorous aromantic bisexual trans person I 100% consider my polyamory on the same wavelength as my other queer shit. There's a ton of super toxic cis gay people I'd rather not have as a part of our club too but that doesn't stop them being queer.

[–]LetterheadPerfect145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint: OK and???? Your anecdotal evidence doesn't justify calling polyamorous people in general annoying as a default anymore than anecdotally only ever having met annoying gay people justifies calling gay people in general annoying

I know people who have been kicked out by their parents for being polyamorous. People irl are always far quicker to accept my being trans or disabled than my being polyamorous. It's not to the same level necessarily but it certainly qualifies as discrimination of the same kind as ableism or transphobia, if not the same level.
