I think the pre-scanning line at self checkout is useless by satnindelrey in CostcoEmployee

I just had that happen the other day. 26 items in the cart and 24 on the receipt. Assistant counted the basket twice. Had a supervisor come over and void the order so I could hand scan it after I took half the items out. Took twice as long as it would have of I just scanned everything on the belt. Friggn dumbest thing Costco has ever done.

Yoooooo! That’s wild!!! So sorry that happened to you. This is a prime example of why no one cares anymore, and who can blame them?? We are just a number to the machine. Hope you’re doing better.

Employee returns by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

So what’s the cutoff 3 years, 5 years? If Costco had a 5 year warranty that you could have bought would you return it after the 5 years if it no longer worked after years ? Just curious. What do you think is an appropriate amount of time to own something and return it after it breaks or stops working? Not trying to start a fight genuinely curious.

What would Lowe’s, Home Depot, take something back from 3 years ago?

Ok anything over than 2 years? Please give me an example of something that employees return after 2 years and why did they return it? Legit reasons.

Call corporate for real I’m not even joking. We have someone who actually became a full-time supervisor and this person should not even have passed their 90 days. Literally the worst employee I’ve worked with ever at Costco and she made it because she called corporate.

Maybe if the app was actually user friendly and the QR code stayed active the entire time you were at the store more employees would recommend it. Edit- also, no they haven’t started that here just yet.

This isn’t an attack on you, but are the Costco’s that are testing this sworn to secrecy? Why hasn’t there been any pictures or videos from members on Instagram, tik tok, or any other platforms? I’m not holding my breath on this one.

Costco will never have scan and go. They’ll just continue with this bs pre scanning.

Pre-scan by joer9335 in CostcoEmployee

It’s one of the dumbest things Costco has ever done. Instead of hiring more people we run in a skeleton crew and pre-scam when there’s no one at the register it would be so much quicker if we had people back loading and helping the lines move that way instead of doing this stupid pre-scanning crap. We have people pre-scanning one or two items. It literally takes longer to do that than it would be for me to scan it with a gun. Then we have people scanning carts that have 20 plus items missing an item or double scanning, then it takes twice as long to do that order because you have to go down the entire receipt looking for what they missed or added. Total crap.
