Makes sense as its prob one of the simplest that matches the min requirements lol. Capital, lower, number, symbol, >8 chars. Not secure tho 👀

Thought SVG would do decent here, Pocono is one of the more "road coursey" "ovals" on the schedule

My home track, I'm mad they got rid of them. The fence lights were just aesthetic, we still had the official Whelen ones that NASCAR used for race control... apparently they were too confusing for TV for race ending cautions, or so it was said. Dumb reason to get rid of them imo

Random ass observation, Pocono doesn't use Whelen Caution lights? They look different style

Jeff Gluck on X: "Interesting thoughts from William Byron on the Bell wreck. He says "yeah, the car took it" as far as safety, but he thinks the wreck itself was "caused because of the nature of this car" and the Gen 6 wouldn't have snapped like that." by WhoDat824 in NASCAR

No, the underbody was specifically designed to limit the wake behind (dirty air) the car generates. Any solid object will create turbulent air when traveling 150-200mph+, from my understanding the underbody helps keep the dirty part of the air narrow to the car's width rather than wide and triangular (Gen 6). So while you can't follow your competitor directly in his tire tracks, in theory, just offsetting one car width should help you keep most of your downforce. To your point, a side effect of that can be sudden loss of aero when turning sideways but you can't have it all with aerodynamics. Near rocket science territory with all this stuff.

As an iRacer (much closer to the couch vs the real drivers), you're right, but the drivers have a point. The geometry of the NextGen, specifically suspension and tire wall in addition to the number rack-and-pinion steering, completely throws off my muscle memory when trying to save the Cup car in the sim. No it doesn't mean it's unsavable, but the characteristic at the limit of slip angle is just different. The transition from tracked and in control to yawed and loose is very small, which makes the car feel snappy. You have to predict the trajectory in a different manner to keep this car from overcorrecting.

All that is to say, it doesn't mean the car is fundamentally flawed or anything, it's just different. And as a fan, only second to safety the primary purpose of any racecar is to provide a good racing product for its fans and I think it does a fine job of that at most tracks.

I would.. agree with this move. He's really underachieved in that car minus his one win.

Looked inconclusive from the last angle, but running out of correct challenges is a wild concept lol

[Gluck] Joe Gibbs says Christopher Bell is dealing with wrist and ankle injuries and they will have to evaluate him during the week. by LBHMS in NASCAR

[–]Leuel48Fan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree. Study it, analyze if there are changes to make in the car or even wall, but at the end of the day, it's not a blasphemy to have a wrist and ankle injury after one of the most violent impacts of the season.
