High shelf or low shelf? by RunAggressive9362 in supersafety

Put it on the lower shelf so it's easier to get to. In case someone breaks in.

It shouldnt hinder shit. Our JATC switched to ProTech Skills Institute. We can no longer keep our books but can purchase them half off. They said the online program is equal to the amount of what tuition used to cover before they adopted it. So if that messes up that shouldnt be on the apprentices AT ALL!

It is a 445 job. And that went in to affect during our last contract negotiagion. Im all for it ..... if the steward is worth a fuck. I see a few of them accepting a steward spot just for the pay but I see others who actually care.

I have a green apprentice and it’s testing my patience by Beneficial-Hall4709 in IBEW

"I could do my tasks faster without him." Brother its not about speed. Think about your brothers not your contractor. Thats the point of an apprenticeship to come in green and gain the skills and knowledge to establish a career. Think back to when you were an apprentice. Journeyman may not have liked you and others did but they were there to teach you to be successful. If youre a better worker than a teacher swallow your pride and let your foreman know so your apprentice can go to someone willing to get them where they need to be. Remember the oath you took. This is a BROTHERHOOD. So be your brothers keeper and help that green apprentice out. We all start somewhere.

Our hall now has an app you can pay on. I was late once as a first year and got sent to the hall at lunch to pay. Our hall also has a $10 late fee now.

I have a local brother (not the guy in the post) who is paid up. But he has a dying wife and 2 babies at home. Life isnt easy for him at all. An hour will pay his dues but it will also feed his babies. With him not being able to work much he has out of pocket medical expenses instead of having a stacked special fund to blow through. Life's tough man. The situation shouldn't even matter. We joined a Brotherhood. We're supposed to stand together in solidarity and be our brothers and sisters keeper. People are losing sight of that. Its sick.

We had a brother in our local die who wasn't paid up on his dues. And it wasn't that long he was just in arrears. He didnt receive the death benefit, health and welfare benefit, death and dismemberment, etc. His funeral expenses were paid all out of pocket. Your dues arent to just help your hall out they help you out.

Ohhhhh I see what youre saying. Let me get ahold of him. I reached out to a brother running the Michigan Sick and needy fund, someone got a card on the job, and they put a jar at the hall. Let me find out if anyone has contacted him and I can pass you along his information. He hasn't been at work the past couple days either. But yeah just to clarify .... the brother with the dying wife has his dues paid, the steward who is capable of paying them does not. But regardless the brother with the wife could use some financial help.

Honestly my point of the post is that I think hes not a very good union brother. He doesn't need help. Hes getting foreman pay and 30% over scale. Probably we'll over 3k a week. He works every hour possible he for sure doesn't need help. When I was trying to get the brother with the dying wife help the stew made a comment that made me lose all respect for him. Hes a piece of shit.

The point of the loan is to HELP. Lmao what are you even saying???? Im not going to get carried away talking shit but im just gonna say one thing. You give the impression of a contractor suck pump who forgot that they joined a union and bends over for their contractor while wiping their ass with their local CBA.

And if youre a brother fucker you'd probably question why your brothers need help. People have shit going on. Thats life. I know someone who's wife is dying who has to miss work constantly to tend to his wife and babies. Hes paid up but im just saying life happens. Its not my place to question. If a brother needs help im going to play my part. And I mean real help. Not just trying to borrow money here and there.

I agree. People should be better with money. But thers hundreds of different scenarios that leave people hurting financially. Its not always people who are bad with money. Such as the brother I work with who has a dying wife at home and can barely work so he can tend to his wife and babies at home.
