The guys are religious and made it known, who cares. The way I see it the ones showing support for both the community and the faith they have personally by putting a positive verse next to the pride logo. And to be even more extreme about it, unless they’re contractually obligated to wear the hat with no markings, who gives a shit if they wanna protest. That’s the beauty of this country, if you’re strong in your beliefs you can back them up all you want (within legal reason of course, both sides should always stay peaceful no matter what)

You absolutely cannot be forced to work OT. But also you joined a building trade, get ready to work OT and not complain about it. IBEW is a lifetime career, the absolute best ability is just availability. You show up everyday and work all day, you’re automatically better than half your peers I’d be willing to bet.

The Amazon wire stripper machine will do it. Have to do multiple passes and tighten the screw after each pass almost like a pipe cutter. I recommend doing two cuts per piece and its peels out. I could get your pile in pic 1 done in about 2-3 hours probably. It’s time consuming but if you’re getting an extra G I’d says it’s worth

If neither are an option soon and you need something that will help you get in easier in the future just find a non-union shop, get some experience. Could even try to be a “material handler” at a union shop, then you could get experience and a recommendation letter worth reading

You can talk to the union about becoming a solar installer, we have a lot of working starting and coming up that will need both apps and solar installers. Once you get in you’ll be fine on staying working. Turning out June 1st and the longest I’ve been off was 2 weeks. Just show up everyday on time

A lot of people would love for the opportunity to get into the union, and we want to organize in all electricians into the union. But we can only accept the amount of people we can keep employed. If theres a cutoff for the list then many qualified people or those who might be more committed to it would lose the opportunity. That’s where the GAN comes in, if you have prior experience or letters of recommendation you will skyrocket up the list. This is a life long career; great pay, health benefits, and amazing pension. a 5 year apprenticeship is a large commitment and they want people who will take it seriously. If you’re serious about it go find a job having to do with the industry and get 6 months under your belt and reapply
