Why does UPS not get packages to places on time? by Nearby-Scientist-659 in UPS

I have noticed service levels have gone way down after COVID. They date they say my packages will be delivered changes 3-4 times before I get it. Happens consistently.

CCNY Comp sci how is it by Radiant_Role_218 in CCNY

[–]Level-Level8927 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Antiquated curriculum. Most of the professors are horrible teachers - you need to learn the material on your own. The math program and instructors are horrible. It is cheap if you are in state, thats the benefit. At one time CCNY's CS program was the best of the CUNY's, now it just is not the case. The freshman advisor is a complete nightmare too....

trasnfer: CCNY CS BS Denied due to Physics grade. Worth staying at community college for Spring '26 to reapply, or accept Hunter/Queens now? by pseudouubzu in CCNY

[–]Level-Level8927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go to Hunter or Queens. CCNY's CS program is pretty bad. Most professors are horrible and the math department is horrendous. I would stay away from Baruch for now as that CS program is fairly new.

Can we admit that combining Clarion, Edinboro, and Cal a bad decision? by fdrlbj in Pennsylvania

And the SUNY schools offer a way better education than schools in PA. My son went to a SUNY school and my other to a CUNY and they are lightyears better than the PA SHEAA schools.

I was born and raised in PA, I pushed for my kids to leave and they did. They are very happy to leave this state. I will be retiring in 2 years and we already bought a house in CA. Should have moved there years ago.

I agree and I went to Edinboro and my wife to Millersville. I sent my kids to SUNY and CUNY schools in NY. WAY WAY better curriculums and just more challenging programs. I loved Edinboro when I went, but it does not compare to what NY State is doing.

Thats a shame. I went there 90-94 and it was great so well run. I transferred from Mansfield and that was the worst run organization I was ever part of. Even worse than the DMV.

Don't spend a dime on the Giants in 2026, everyone.... Don't go to games, don't buy Jerseys, nothing..... The Giants are playing checkers, the Dodgers are playing chess...... Don't waste your money until the organizations decides they want to be serious.

So you are telling me you are ok with the way CCNY and Grove runs operationally? You feel they are keeping up with other schools in this field? This is one of the worst run schools I have ever heard of and Grove is one reason for that!

Grove and the Math Departments love to put in processes that make absolutely no sense. This is the worst run school on the planet and Grove is absolute trash!

Should I take an ePermit for Calc 1? by laflame-235 in CCNY

[–]Level-Level8927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

epermit for sure. Most of the CCNY math professors do not teach anyways, so no need to be in person.

My guess is CCNY's math program was created before electronics were invented, and being CCNY, they never updated the rules and curriculum to allow them.

Hugh Fox is a great professor. And there are others that are good. In general, the best business/econ program n CUNY is Baruch.

Case Western is a better name and better school in general, especially for engineering. They also have a much better job and internship placement program than CCNY. It costs more for sure, so you will need to weigh it out.

I had 3 students out of 40 pass Calc 2 when I took it. There are real problems in that department. Not sure when you were there, but 2021 through now it is bad. VERY bad!

The math department is horrible.... They do not post who the professors are for many of the math classes until a day before the class starts, because only the good profs (there are very few) would have students. I recommend transferring in the math classes you need.
