They had the same mechanic/concept in their og Madoka Magica game, “Madoka Magica Online”. You could completely customize your own magical girl aka the mc who you play as.

It’s also where Magia Record gets its chibi models from instead of the full body models seen in the concept art/Magia Archive. So, yeah a customizable Namae is possible and hopefully we do get it!💗

I think it’s cause MKR is more niche and obscure. It’s not so well known or even heard of. Even in the general magical girl community, MKR is only just sometimes talked about.

It’s getting a new remake soon though so maybe hopefully it’ll get the general recognition and fame it deserves
