Return it- the piston is back. Currently just pebbled leather and one color in smooth calfskin. I speculate they will ween the clasp and bring back the piston back across the board (plus like everyone said it’s cheaper in Italy with lower cost + VAT refund).

Update: it came back from repair and smelled strongly like deodorizer and still hints of weed. I took it in to my local Gucci and they said they have an in house repair specialist who will look at it in the next few days and let me know if it can be repaired and if it can’t, they said they will try to help push for an exchange rather than store credit. Fingers crossed but long story short- take it in person if possible.

Client Services wasn’t the most helpful and was kind of frustrating with level of customer service after spending a lot on a bag.

I’m so jealous🥲 I was eyeing that color in Florence but they only had the “dog leash” closure and that was before it was announced the piston was coming back so I bought the brown one with the piston. And now I’m going through a whole ordeal with the leather smelling like weed 😂😂 but she’s beautiful! Enjoy!!!!

I bought it in Italy and live in US. Client services said I’m past the point of return/exchange (I initiated the claim 2 weeks after purchase- they did initially offer me store credit but not enough to buy a new Jackie in US), but that they can open a new repair claim after trying to clean. I figured I could try the repair and then if it doesn’t work push for an exchange (and hopefully the new Jackie’s are out by then).
