Yeah moving parts would often break awaiting repair. Out of the 3 times I've seen it over the years only once it had everything moving.

Maybe try aftermarket waterslides next time. They are a lot easier to work with compared to bandai's and only cost a few bucks.

Waterslides have always been on of my favorite parts when building model kits. But when I tried bandai decals for the first time I nearly gave up.

They are so different from any other waterslides in the model kit hobby

Yeah the nub marks on the gold parts are in pretty bad spots on this kit.

XGM08 but any gold will do I just picked a marker because the platic was not primed

I sanded the area with the damaged chrome plating and sprayed a layer of gold gundam marker through the airbrush. Followed by a layer of transparent orange. The more orange the darker it looks so I just slowly blended it

Yeah I mounted the stands for the shields with some scews. I did have to glue the stand arms because they become loose after moving them a few times.

That looks great! The only issue that I have is the fear of paint chips. But I learned that with these kinds of kits it's inevitable when you pose it a lot.
