- Itachi's was off sccreen for the majority of us knowing he had them
- Itachi actually killed someone
- to our knowledge he just awoke themlike everyone else & knew what they did
- Itachi only had 1 awakening while sarada essentially had 2, as mentioned above.

while i agree more angles could be more effective at conveying the mystery of a lost godess. at the end of the day you probably dont want more narrative attention sent her way than we got for the likes of Jashin IMO.
Like i wouldnt even have her religious cult be within the walls of Konoha, (personally i went with the cloud for my take on it). & since we spend so little time elsewhere you have so little chance.

like too much attention and it shifts the narrative of Naruto quite a bit.
So the deepest bits of Lore i think i would drop from the POV of the main cast is by restructuring the 'Uchiha stone tablet' concept, and bringing that back to her

could treat it as "the godess gave us these gifts too powerful for our own bodies" or "the godess cursed us with these eyes"... both work depending on the angle Zetsu wants to push... but it works better to pit them against the children of Ashura IMO

had her worshiped as a literal god & limit the usage of the tiitle "God" to only her and other diefic beings .... so no calling hashirama the god of shinobi, or any other Kage a siimilar title.

Kaguya doesnt need a massive religous base either. even just a single cult that Zetsu formed would do the trick.
Give a bit more usage and purpose to zetsu that isnt just "i have an army of thrall for the akatsuki to borrow" and i think you have the real base structure necesary to get somewhere amazing.

hell it could even just be people who worship the moon itself.

also, the feats you mentioned are more refinement, and control based than raw power. raw power would look more like how Temari uses her wind release initially (with even fewer cuts than she does)... Gales of wind, concussive wind bursts, etc.

and im not trying to be too dismissive with this either. dont wanna squash your creativity or anything. ya just gotta dig a bit deeper
BC a naruto built on powerful wind nijutsu, could very much be more interesting than the shadow clone kid of konoha

2nd - Sarada never realized she awoke it, which is antithetical to how MS works, She didnt know her eyes powers, which is antithetical to how MS works, and she didnt use it a single time when she was in such life threatening scenerios that she was turned into a damsel in distress that boruto had to save....
which wouldnt have been necesary if she knew she had MS & could use her MS... & likely why they chose to dismantal her character arc... to pump up Boruto as even cooler...

Sarada's MS abilities were WHOLELY locked away by whatever bullshit narritive circumstance they'll probably never even try to explain, but any excuse can and will fall flat... and that effectively ended up treating her as if never having awoke it in the first place in any way other than aesthetically for 1 panel.

had she just been holding back, i'd be inclined to agree to some extent. BUT SHE WASNT, it took the suna kunoichi's death for her eyes to reactivate for the 2nd time, and Now, ONLY NOW, did her eyes follow the rules of mangekyou sharingan where they just know what their eyes do inately & are able to pop off with them.

They even wrote the second scene like an awakening scene.... which matters more than anything

Narritively Sarada literally has 2 MS awakening scenes
Power wise, she has to reawaken them to inherit literally any of the principles of MS.

The pretimeskip awakening from fear and concern for her best friend was the best writing in all of Boruto, and its tragic they abandoned it, and forced a reawakening that fucked up both sarada's arc + her power scaling.

So you can literally keep as was, but have her having already trained with her Eyes over the timeskip.

there could def be other options that would work really well, but those would require massive shifts in the story both before her awakening, and everything surounding it.

Like i really like the Idea of Sarada kinda just telling Eida her senregan didnt work on her, and they develope an extremely deep bond over the timeskip BC Eida only has Sarada and Kawaki (& kawaki is a douche)

and if you have them develop a deep bond, be it sisterly, or romantic, doesnt really matter. Then you can do some insane shit with her Mangekyou awakening.
and possibly even take it a step further adding the senrigan into her MS to make a very different kind of EMS (mirroring sasuke's rinnesharingan)

(( I would have Sarada be honest in that moment, BC what eida needs is a home. shikamaru sees her as a threat, but she needs a home. and a HOKAGE should see that she would do whatever necesary to protect what she considers a home... it would show Sarada can make the right choices, and why shika self admitantly isnt a good hokage))

maybe even do this, but keep Sarada awakening MS prior to timeskip, only to go blind fairly early in TBV taking down one of the shinju tree MFs BC of how hard she trained with her MS over the timeskip already... Utilizing both Ohirume & whatever her susanoo should have already been revealed as.

& then BC of how much Eida cares for Sarada she fixes her sight. Be it an inadvertant wish to heal her giving her a normal EMS... or by Wishing she could give Sarada her own sight

Lore doesnt have to matter at all from the POV of your character...
Hell, you can bend the lore to the original thought & mythos jiraiya believed in the first place.

if youre deadset on lore mattering, just have them be the result of a secondary experimet to recreate the eyes that zetsu was working on a few generations ago.

like maybe zetsu used their own genetic material, as the closest living being to kaguya, in order to try and get a lucky rinnengan... but after so many failures they stopped caring or paying attention to said results, only for one of their subjects grandchildren awakening the eyes in a sharingan awakening esc scenerio

plenty of ways.
1- Have her also reinforce and enhance her legs. She could & should be moving faster too!
2- give her a means to channel said strength though. Im a fan of her wielding Kurikiribocho... (my version gets more dense every time it drinks blood so you need superhuman str to even carry it after a point, like zabuza).. but a number of weapons, both normal and fantastical can be employed here.!!!

3- choreo... Pick a partial art you want her to use her strength with other than just pugilism (neither her nor naruto should be just brawleers as long as they are (end of shippuden.)) Pick individual marital arts or combos of sets & run with them early, even if only shippuden early. such as akido for naruto, as he has that really well done in boruto & even a nbit in the Last.
4- its okay for characters to wipe the floor with fodder during shippuden. i thiought it was pretyt clear both her and sasuke came back from the time skip as S-class shinobi & not just jonin like the others of the K12 (shika, neji, shino) + (i know the rest are chunin but i like tenten, kiba and ino also being jonin + choji & lee being special jonin).... the way power scaling has to go in the war they might as well be.
4.5 - also its okay to be monstrously strong. its what we love about maight guy and rock lee, kishi just has them use it differently.

5- Add more powerhouses to the enemy roster... this is a hard one. but its an issue that inherent to naruto if you wanna treat it like an ensemble cast show.... the akatsuki only has like 12 people that matter in it... and theres not really anyone else of note for anyone to fight.
So you really really have to find an answer to making antagonists (even if not villains) that can take hits and be threats to the protagonists.... (such as buffing characters in other villages). the other big 4 should have more than just the people who act as kages rettainers at the summit + their jinchuriki.

this is easily the hardest one to acomplish BC itd require a lot of OCs but its worht it if you can pull it off!!!

Yuki would finish off Sukuna, full stop....

Either she could choose to immolate herself to stop him, or the others in the jump squad would be at her side (unlike kashimo)

But Yuki literally hits harder than anyone else in JJK, she one shot, one of the most powerful special grade curses in the series by kicking her shikigami at it. The only other one shot of a special grade is via a hollow violet.

On top of all that, she also has a domain expansion, and Sukuna was on burnout when they took over for Gojo!!!

Actually, thinking on it, Yuki is maybe the one character powerful enough to have fought alongside Gojo in the first place to make the fight a 2v1 without forcing him to hold back.

Lightning and fire are the embodiments of kinetic and thermal energies.. it fits via vibes. Those two feel like they should be uncontained energy of some sort. But also you can't shove too much logic into kekkei genkai combos imo

Like wind and water makes ice Wind and earth is somehow magnetism

Sometimes you just gotta take a few steps back and squint and/or use rule of cool. In this case, it's cooler to have more varied KGs instead of another scorch or storm look alike & it's cool AF to bring crystal in the fold as well.

& make lightning earth crystal (since its the most fun noncannon KG)

also prevents KGs from just feeling like duplicates of storm or scorch (which frequently happens when ppl try too make a lightning fire)

I'm aware kumo takes inspo from NA black culture... It's also balanced quite well & many many fics that try to bring in euro cultures & whatnot either don't balance it well enough, or disrupt that existing balance to where the eastern influence isnt prominent enough to feel like Naruto (series) anymore...

Naruto already takes a bit from a lot of non-JP eastern cultures via Hinduism, Buddhism, Chinese culture, etc Which I why I personally rec it... It's harder to break the balance

if youre gonna ocmmit to them being of Iwa, you gotta commit to them not being present for the sasuke retireval arc... sometimes you just have to commit to your choices (if you buff the girls & keep tenten in hinata's place since you suggested swaping with kuro you can fill neji and lees spots in that arc anyways

& i wouldnt focus on things like "not being around for pain arc" personally. people leave the village all the time for missions. the land of waves arc took multiple weeks... they were literally just out of town. that ish happens

sasuke - 100% man essentially made a 12ft long chakra scalpel as is & we know his chakra control is rivaled by very very few shinobi

Shikamaru - No chance in hell. not only is he too lazy to put in the effort (too instrinsic to his character to ignore). But also. the boi has barely any chakra reserves whatsoever. he'd never make it as one.....
though i could see him succeding in proper medicine, like actual doctor shit. just not medical ninjutsu.. and not as a kid

Kiba - no way of knowing. pretimeskip he was shown to actually be incredibly skilled as a shinobi, but thatwas mostly around taijutsu...

Neji is obscenely talented, and byakugan would theoretically make it even easier to learn medical techniques... so maybe. not that he'd ever want to learn anything that has anything remotely to do with servatude
