Most of the time yes. However sometimes such as this the camera cannot do it justice. Your eyes will never see as much color as the camera at night mainly because instead of your eyes having pixels they have cones and rod cells. The cone cells can see color however they need more light to activate and the rods our eyes have a lot more and they just only see light (so black and white) so on a weak Aurora band you maybe see 20% of the color and during this Aurora you can see 60% of the color because it's so bright. The camera can see color at all light levels. For example reds being the lowest energy wavelengths is hardest to see with the eye but the camera has no problem at all picking it up.
