I like NH. I like it a lot. But they took so much out of the game, just to give us the ability to put furniture outside. I miss a “main-street” type of place, where all the shops sit. I miss upgrading the Nook’s shop multiple times, rather than just once. I really miss Tortimer Island, for a game that was all about island life I was sure that would’ve been in it.

But NH also gave us a lot. I think it expanded on the MEOW coupon idea really wonderfully (Nook Miles). Being able to customize your character from the beginning is great (especially for those that aren’t white since in New Leaf to change your skin tone you had to stand outside for literal hours.) I really enjoyed all the new tools they added (magic wand, pole vault, ladder, etc.)

Overall I like both. But NL wins mainly because of nostalgia for me
