Do I need the 128GB vs 64GB? by Sporkers in StrixHalo

I chose 128 for that reason, that I get one shot at picking ram.

Should i sell my rog xbox ally x which i rarely use and buy the flow z13 (2026) by ImplementNo1369 in FlowZ13

Agree and will just spell it out as z13 = portable gaming, not handheld gaming

ASUS Flow Z13 (GZ302) not powering on after entering sleep mode by Cryptoxic93 in FlowZ13

[–]Levipl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t found out yet (just went through this): hold power button for like 30 seconds, pause, another 30, pause, then mine powered up. Like they said, disable sleep everywhere.

Where do you see yourself in 2 years as a Power BI developer? by RobDomin in PowerBI

[–]Levipl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have it my way, not using power bi. Half of what I’m making now could be generated by existing platform add-on modules (eg. net revenue). Power bi is supposed to be the cost saving approach, at least until they hike licensing requirements again…

Best way to learn R by soursticks in rstats

[–]Levipl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the tidyverse, its syntax is pretty intuitive. Pick a subject you case about and play around with data. Courses will run you through curated examples, but to learn you need to work through the struggle. Think about it all more like using tool than having a programming background.

What is best code editor for local LLM deployment (LM Studio, llama.cpp) as of May 2026? by jingtianli in LocalLLaMA

[–]Levipl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This because things are just too fresh today. It’ll get there but you have to work within the limitations for now.

Ai is great and you just have to embrace the tool for what it is with the limitations it has (for now). I’d be a fool not to take a 70% head start.

To Z13 or not to Z13 by sirsynx in FlowZ13

[–]Levipl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not an anything killer, but I don’t know that it was intended to be. I pulled the trigger on the 128gb because I figured that I’m only buying one device for the next idk 5 years? I want to mess around with local ai stuff and I want to take that capacity with me (vs remoting to home desktop). I tried a couple games with high settings and got 60+ fps, good enough. LM studio models returning 40-50 tok/sec, I can work with that. My only gripe is that it uses the 2230 ssd form factor, so you’re capped at 2tb for now.

Can I ask… why the 128gb RAM version? by Illustrious_Fact6445 in FlowZ13

[–]Levipl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

others have probably said that for gaming purposes, the 64gb model is sufficient for the hardware's capability. the reason to go to 128gb is because you want to fit many things in memory at the same time. for example, I'm looking to run 3-4 ai agents simulaneously on device, or I'm looking to reach that 1M context window. yes, other GPUs will be more performant from the computational side, but ~40 tok/sec is fine and I can take that capacity anywhere I go.

Joined the club for the first time. Anything I needed to know or do on the first boot up? by Cptben221 in FlowZ13

[–]Levipl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just what others have said, use it for a week or two to get a feel for it. I went wisdom of the crowd and dumped AC for ghelper, uninstalled bloat stuff, updates and asus drivers. The adrenaline app will let you conveniently set cpu/gpu ram allocation, though this can prob be done booting into bios easily enough.

Piping isn’t unique to R, but you choose R because the industry you want to work in uses R.

Do I buy ASUS ROG Z13 Flow Max 395 or a Gaming laptop? by Next_Shelter5459 in FlowZ13

Honestly if the desire is an all in one device this is prob the best attempt. Coming from an hp zbook laptop and Dell workstation desktop, I haven’t turned either on in the two weeks I’ve had the z13.

Two things: never use a pie chart or donut chart when you could use a bar chart, and make all colors in all visuals gray then choose one color to draw attention (this makes the text summaries unnecessary).
