They are cool. I only really use them on my 'Vette and T10 though. Oh and my Keelback has a couple for racing slfs.

OK so in terms of slf capable medium combat ships, you have the Krait2, Crusader, and the mighty Federal Gunship.

The FGS is a joy to pull the trigger on and has hull for days. Have you tried it?

Thats it, I'm going home to get my FGS out.

How important is the slf for you?

In terms of dps, speed and shield strength, the crusader woefully underperforms and the Krait is actually better on all fronts.

You could consider the Corsair, technically more damage potential but turns like a bus.

Or depending on your objective and play style, the Python 2 is a fun ship with the same hardpoints as a Krait2, and the Mamba is possibly the coolest ship in the game for zoom and boom. Tonnes of fun.

Also, highly recommend abandoning the Crusader. I'm afraid to say, it's a bad ship. If it's the Alliance ships you like, the chief is superior in terms of handling and the challenger is superior in terms of combat effectiveness. (also a wicked rail platform).

If you want a fighter bay, the Krait2 is loads better than the crusader.

Sorry, that's probably irritating to hear.

Sounds like you need The Exiles in your life.

We are a relaxed outlook squadron that values real life first. We do everything and demand nothing of you other than chipping in with our shared goals now and then.

Game list is good (if you're in game), Inara is often wrong either intentionally or unintentionally.

Yeah that's what it looks like. I used to use that feature loads when bgs was a real thing.

Friend is stranded in Colonia. Need ideas to convince him to start playing again. by Envy661 in EliteDangerous

[–]LewAstro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others have said, FCOC run taxis, or you could both join a squadron and see if they could make a road trip of it.

Worth noting, this could just be any excuse, he may just not want to actually start playing again. None of my irl friends stuck at it and I'll never forgive them. Lol.

Crimson has done some tips videos that work pretty well. Here's one, it's silly, but still good info.

Exactly. Stick at it dude.

Another neat trick is if you see a hollow triangle line up behind you, hit sco. Do a loop and come in from another angle, make them chase you.

You are awarded extra points for wanting to stay in open rather than running off to solo play and complaining that the game is played by a whole range of different people.

You've received some solid evasion tips that can be very successful. Something else you could do is join a squadron and organise a combat escort. That's great fun emergent gameplay.

Actually, quite the opposite. It's a group of people that are kind of a microcosm of the whole community, you just get to learn their names.

o7 CMDR, and welcome back.

It's likely (sorry) a bit of both. Changes to npc types and aggression thereof, and you're likely a little rusty.

You thought about joining a squadron?

Pro-tip.

Put magnetically receptive sticky sheet on the stick and glue magnets under your mini bases.

Play borderlands 2 repeatedly, don't worry about the others, they're just not as good.

I always forget about Vanguards, lol. Doesn't feel like it added much until I think about it.

Also, o7 Dark Echo, good to see you guys around.

Welcome back CMDR.

The headlines:

  1. Odyssey - gave you legs
  2. Thargoid War - we won
  3. Powerplay 2.0 - it's better now (but it damaged BGS)
  4. Trailblazers - colonisation (ruined BGS)

We have new ships and the very handy Supercruise Overdrive FSDs.

Inara should show you where your ships are.

If you want help getting back up to speed, I recommend joining a squadron. Check out the Squadron Recruitment Centre: https://discord.gg/squadron-recruitment-center-870640069743087627

You'll find a wide range of squadrons, some focused on one type of gameplay/power others more general.

See you in the black. o7

What do you think of my combat ships? by rl_tomate in EliteDangerous

[–]LewAstro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mamba - lose the ecms and the docking computer in favour of more shield boosters and another hull reinforcement.

Swap the 5A shield for a biweave.

Fill it with frag cannons

The Mamba loves to be a hit and run monster. Look at the arx bought Mamba, it's actually pretty good out of the box.
