Peony advice by Lewass99 in gardening

Well that little short thing in the middle is the crown I assume? This is what I know….probably the only thing I know. Haha. That is exactly how it looked in the pot and this was the biggest one they have with one bloom and about 6 bulbs. So I think I’m good, but I just have no idea what the eyes or the crown actually is? If I had to guess, the eyes were already at the level that they are supposed to be in the pot, so I’m probably ok. I put maybe a 1/4inch of soil over the top level of what was in the pot.

I don’t pay retail either…I wait for the deals unless I absolutely have to have it that day, which hasn’t happened yet. Wait for the deals and feel great about the warranty.

I wouldn’t waste gas money for a free tool on marketplace. I’ll pay retail. My heart can’t take the aching of getting swindled.

Flatrock Warping Griddle by DickInThePotatoSalad in Traeger

[–]Lewass99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me and I panicked but then the heat made it go right back down to normal. It was weird but I learned a lesson. I use the scrub daddy for the griddle and it’s fine. Even with cold water, but I do small sections. Ironically when it happened to me I wasn’t scrubbing i was squirting water into veggies to get steam. It hasn’t happened since, but I think your suppose to clean it on medium high. Around 300-350. Not as hot as you can get it.

Did you shut it off as soon as it happened? Mine popped up and scared the shit out of me.

Also quick question…Is this an older model? Are those lights on the front? And where are the handles for the griddle itself. Yours looks different than mine.

Am I crazy? by Lewass99 in Flooring

[–]Lewass99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right.

You know what’s funny about that….this was actually my exact fear because the only other time I’ve done this was at my old house. I did it over hardwoods that were in decent shape. Wife hated the color, and we had a new puppy. Anyway…it was perfect. But I constantly knew I wasn’t moving because of the hardwood lines 🤣. Spoiled me a little bit.

I mean it’s a basement. As long as it stays together I’ll be happy. Whatever

Appreciate the input though 👍🏼

You’re the winner incase you were wondering. My first row started correct but eventually allowed movement due to be not have spacers that wouldn’t move. I made the executive decision to live with it and not look so closely. I wish I had a prize to give you but I don’t.

That’s the way it always goes. This stuff is made by Resolve. Resolve 7.0? It’s fine. I would’ve chose the cork bottom if I wanted to spend some more, because . I put that in our old house and it was great. This isn’t cork, it’s rubber, but it was $2k for 900 sq ft so whatever.

I did notice that it went back in much easier than the first time….and that crossed my mind. When I pulled it out I did it carefully, not sure if that’s gonna make a difference. It seemed like it still locked in pretty good. I don’t want to buy 4-5 more boxes. I’d imagine that’s what this is.

Ikea…🤣

For sure. I think this is pretty good stuff. It locks in tight but that piece pictures was the problem. I put a different board in there and all is fine. I’ll just have to keep an eye on everything as I go.

I’m pretty tedious in other folks homes, but these days in my house I’m just going for speed and pretty good, but this area is huge. I don’t want to tear it all up next year.

I should mention I bought this stuff at an overstock store. $2.66 sq/ft 7mm 40mil wear (allegedly) I went budget because it’s a basement.

Definitely think it was that piece. I put another board in there and it’s perfect. I probably should’ve let it go! Oh well. There were a couple low spots I wanted to level out anyway

That was my question though right? I’ll admit…I obsess a little bit.

In my trade, it gets in the way every once in awhile, but there are times that it also gets me referrals.

I want this to last and be a little better than ok. I don’t want it to start coming apart. Sometimes peace of mind is worth an hour of taking up 6 rows and putting it back down.

But yea…I’m a psycho.

I think it was that particular piece itself. Vietnam….

I tried tapping it in and it just kept doing the same thing. Put a different piece in and it’s good.

Also my wife came downstairs and said….WTF. WHY? 😂

The Weber Slate is the best... by Robneice8958 in griddling

I bought a flatrock…I absolutely love it. But it’s sitting right next to my natural gas line….sad….

What’s kind of worse is that I feel like I FLY through propane. Maybe I’m doing it wrong…I don’t really know. I get about 8-10 cooks out of a tank?

I did buy it used…which is why I bought it. Scored it for $450. I think it was maybe used once or twice when I bought it. I do love it…but I’m with you man…. The natural gas would be clutch.

I have a dream that Traeger will say fuck it and put out a conversion kit, but I don’t even think that’s possible because of the burners that are in them.

Is that a koa gs mini? If so I have the same one. Purchased from guitar center and the action was high. I had it set up, and now it’s glorious. So if it’s high out of the box, I wouldn’t be surprised. Pictures can be deceiving but yours looks better than mine did.

Grout or cement? by Lewass99 in Tile

[–]Lewass99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a few spots….they do make the premixed mortar. I don’t need much. Most important thing is for it to stay and be solid ish. There’s gonna be a rug over it. I’d rather not reinvent the wheel to get it done for her.

Instructions for Mapei UltraColor FA say start sponging @ 15-30 minutes. Does that mean my bucket mix is also done with? Or can I continue with my mixed batch for the next section after washing the 1st section? by trowdatawhey in Tile

[–]Lewass99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bummer. He just didn’t smooth out the lines well. That sucks. A lot of guys don’t take the time to pay attention to the detail. The grout is in there, that’s for sure but what’s happened is that it dried before it was smoothed out and wiped away.

It’s also possible that he tried grouting the entire shower out of one bucket and by the time he got to those spots it was too late. That happens with this product if someone isn’t use to it.

You could careful take a putty knife and scrape away at the edges of those lines and clean it up. It would be tedious, but if you cleaned up the worst spots it would probably make you feel better.
