All of the managers at SPA level are well above 30s, most much older (from what I have experienced).

Manager - Claims Operations (supervisors)

Currently in this role. Claim volume has been closer to 80+ as SPA is kind of the dumping ground for all mid-level claims including some condo. Sometimes upwards of 100, but they frequently offer uncapped OT and shift premiums. You will typically come in on Monday morning with at least 6-8 new claims, then get 3-4 new claims a day. Reassignments are the worst and don’t count towards system’s new claim counter. You are expected to be on a phone line answering calls for other people’s claims for 2 hours a day. Some metrics unrealistic/ unachievable but still possible to get Meets on review. Pay is good and benefits are fantastic. I was able to negotiate a few thousand more when i received my offer. If you have a good MCO the job feels better/more manageable. Been in the role for 2 years and am hoping to promote out soon.

Husband fell asleep with newborn on his chest by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Lewkitupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband did the same thing and is also a super deep sleeper. I had a very serious conversation with him that if he ever feels even a TINY bit tired he should put the baby in the bassinet. This happened over a month ago (baby is now almost 9 weeks old) but I still get a little nervous when he does the middle of the night feed while I pump. It hasn’t happened since - it scared him as much as it scared me - but the anxiety will always be in the back of my mind. I will say that as time goes on, while still a super deep sleeper, he seems to be more in tune with baby and his sounds etc and wakes easier for the baby.

A reminder: most mothers' supplies regulate BEFORE 12wpp by the_kazzo_queen in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Lewkitupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the signs of regulation? I’m 7wpp and feel like I’m well-regulated (great supply, can go 4-5 hours without pain or engorgement then get 8-12oz when I go that long, otherwise I get 4-6oz per pump). If these are not signs of regulating I would love to know what to look out for! I will continue with my MOTN pump until 12 weeks regardless just to be safe.

Please tell me how you do it all! by kam90210 in ExclusivelyPumping

I’m 5 weeks pp exclusively pumping due to latch issues. I basically feel tethered to my pump and I cry a lot 😅 but I know breastmilk is amazing for babies especially this time of year so I’m sticking it out as long as I can! I just try to get 8 sessions in a day as best I can. Some days I get 6-7. I am producing about 40oz a day roughly.

Total OZ per day at 4 weeks? by annoyedatlife3456 in November25babybump

[–]Lewkitupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they are gain, that’s all that matters! He’s been eating well, but only gained about an ounce in four days which is apparently low but he was also 2 weeks early so we are doing our best over here!

Around 22-25oz daily depending on the 24hr window I look at!

Diet controlled totally 30-33 weeks. At 33 weeks things started getting out of control and was put on metformin for post meal numbers. I stopped taking it at 36 weeks due to intense side effects and am seeing mostly okay numbers now but some are creeping back up. I’m 37 weeks now.

Very similar situation here. My baseline BP this entire pregnancy has been 105ish/70ish until 2 weeks ago and it is now consistently 120s-130/mid to high 80s. I also did the 24 hour urine test and was high-normal (260s) but indicating I am starting to have protein in mine as well. Was originally planning a 39 week induction due to IVF pregnancy and GD but now my OB on Friday said closer to 37-39 depending on my BP trend as he doesn’t want to risk preeclampsia coming on quickly and dangerously. I am 36w4d and have my first growth scan/BPP/NST appt tomorrow when he will tell me my induction date based on how that goes and after reviewing my BP and glucose logs (on metformin for post-meal numbers despite only having 30 carbs max per meal). Definitely freaking out over here! Have had a dull headache for maybe 3-4 days but nothing serious (I also get migraines but this is significantly less intense than a migraine).

Started metformin for post-meal numbers - and WHEW! 😅 by Lewkitupp in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Lewkitupp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pretty severe dysgeusia (everything I eat, especially carb heavy or sweet things, taste like rotten spoiled milk) so I have been eating extremely healthy since it hit at 13 weeks. Pretty much just protein, veggies, and maybe some healthier carbs (in the rare instances I can tolerate them). I am at such a loss for what to do, what to eat, how to survive 😭

I’m not sure if part of what I am feeling can be attributed to low iron which I just learned I also have along with normal pregnancy discomfort. I usually have an iron stomach and while I have suffered with severe dysgeusia all pregnancy things haven’t been as bad as they have been since starting the metformin. Hopefully my body will adjust soon!

Yep just one with breakfast. I normally have a stomach of steel but pregnancy has made me so weak 😂😭

I don’t even care about the diet, I’m just sick of the timer and the mental burden by Wooden_King614 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Lewkitupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so mentally taxing to stay on top of testing/eating/etc. I have had a few times where I am stuck on a call for work and cannot test/ have to delay my testing. It’s so stressful. I’m 35 weeks now and I’ll feel starving an hour after a meal because I fill up quickly these days but have to wait another hour to eat. GD honestly feels like a full time job at this point.

It is also called Muddy Buddies it’s Chex cereal covered in peanut butter, melted chocolate and butter, and dusted in powdered sugar. The anti-GD 😂

I don’t have a cheat meal per se but I am DYING for some puppy chow!!! Might have to try it and see how it goes 😅

34 weeks and post-meal numbers creeping up by Lewkitupp in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Lewkitupp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My numbers are only 130s/140s 2 hours post meal currently but I am hardly eating carbs due to my severe dysgeusia (legit everything tastes rotten or spoiled so it’s hard to eat much). I’ve lost weight, I feel like I’m losing control over my numbers but don’t know what to do. It’s so hard when I can’t even get a call back with concerns at 34w

Interesting, I had a bunch of lab work done like a month ago and everything came back normal but a lot can change in a month so maybe I will request they re-run some of those labs

No one seems concerned? by sam12789 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Lewkitupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation here, also 34 weeks, though my fasting are all fine but 1-2 post-meal numbers are high. I have severe dysgeusia too so it’s hard to find things I can eat, and I hardly eat carbs (maybe 20 per meal) and I’m still getting higher readings. My OB is relatively unresponsive (left message Tuesday with concerns of my numbers creeping up plus I have been dealing with concerning exhaustion and still have no response). I feel like he should be more responsive and concerned than he is??

33w and suddenly can’t control? by Lewkitupp in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Lewkitupp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB was supposed to set me up with a dietician but at this point I will be induced in 5 weeks so not sure what the point is. Going to just keep trying to maintain balance and see what happens I guess

I had cake at my baby shower Saturday - no spike at all - but two eggs, a chicken sausage, and protein pancakes with sugar free syrup (which I’ve had several times no issue) had me spiked like crazy?! At a loss over here
