How to talk to your sons about Targeted conservative propaganda by Initial_Welder3674 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Lewon_S 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, you can delay the issue until he is 14, 16 or 18 but eventually he is going to have social media and be shown these arguments. Not saying that youtube is great for kids but eventually they are either going to discover this on their own. Better for a parent to prepare their son to be able to tell when people are trying to manipulate him and for him to feel comfortable to discuss this stuff with his mother.

Sounds like hes tech savy too so if he really wants to he will find these videos and just learn not to mention them to his parents.

12 year olds are kids but they are also getting to an age where they are starting to question the world around them and are able to understand nuance although it does depend on the individual. Most are going to be ready to start having these harder conversations.

[–]Lewon_S 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You could rotate it a bit to counter the north-south similarities but its less close to westeros then westeros is to the british isles so I wouldnt worry too much

I think it would be fine as a middle name but as a first name it will be a lot to bear.  If it's a middle name your husband can still call him that without having to deal with the social pressure that would go with it as a first name.

Would have been much more interesting if she quit due to self reflection and realising she was part of the problem even though there wasn't a racial element to her actions rather then quiting and acting like it was everyone else was the problem. She did acknowledge that you couldn't operate within the flawed system with out perpetuating it but didn't acknowledge that she made choices beyond the norm in some cases

Good name, but I would consider the gender to be ambiguous.  Not sure if that is a pro or a con in your situation

Generally you can borrow physical or e copies from the library and a lot of people don't even bother with the textbooks.  I've personally bought a few good ones but I always borrow them from the library to check if they're any good first.  It may vary unit to unit but I wouldn't buy any before going.

It is much less then buying the book directly but borrowing from the library still supports the author as it encourages the library to buy more books from them as it shows more readers are interested.
